Don't even need to put quotes up to see how stupid they can be

They look like they are in bad disguises.

Detective Inspector Michael Owen and Detective Sergeant Dennis Wise are two cops whom the bad guys and the superintendants fear in equal measure. Their unorthodox methods mean they get the biggest arrests and the best birds in the Flying Squad, but their latest bust has them going undercover in Londons most fearsome Firm. Will they finally get the evidence they're looking for to take down Ronnie Baines once and for all? Find out next week in "Hell Toupee".

Those associated with Liverpool and Man United seem to be the most insufferable.

Every pundit who played for Arsenal in the 90s except for Ian Wright too

Think Shearer is one of the best by a country mile.

Neutral and offers strong analysis.

Paul Merson isn't bad, either.

Although can't stand Jamie Carragher (partly due to his strong accent) and Chris Sutton.

What I find confusing is for years on Soccer Saturday, they weren't allowed to watch/report on their teams (Le Tissier/Phil Thompson) for potential bias reasons is assume? So why are they okay with Neville/Carragher commentating on every single Man Utd/Liverpool match? And upping their comms team to 3 for Utd/Liverpool games?

Baggio is wrong. I've never held political office not have I ever been a police officer amongst many other things but I do see fit to comment/criticise/pass judgement on them.

And also by extension of his logic only those that have had successful playing careers would make successful managers/coaches. And we know that isn't the case.

I agree, I posted it to stimulate a discussion.

On the other hand, you don't give these views on national tv/radio, or market yourself as an expert on the subject (I presume, anyway).

I think you're right btw, I'm just playing devil's advocate by saying I can sort of see where Baggio is coming from.

I guess it depends on the views put across but there's plenty of instances of successful managers who less than great at the game so I don't see why you can't have pundits from the same pool who would have a good understanding likewise playing for a successful team doesn't make you a tactical genius.

Definitely, there's nothing to say you've had to be exceptional at the game to deeply understand it.

For me, the ones that wind me up are those ex-players who were neither brilliant players and are also dreadful readers of the game/pundits. See Danny Mills, Robbie Savage, Martin Keown, etc.

That's because they are there because they are 'names', controversial or have pushy agents.

I've never understood why so many people get so worked up by pundits. Commentators maybe as it's harder to avoid them if you are watching but some people get more annoyed by them than they do by what's happening on the pitch.

Some are annoying, some have rubbish opinions, some are lazy, some are biased. I don't really see what anyone gets from listening to pundits discussion. Maybe a organised and detailed analysis like Monday Night Football sometimes.

Had to dig this thread out to give a nod to Nedum Onuoha on 5Live this evening.  Absolutely brilliant and hope to see/hear more of him on radio or TV.  Had none of "character" crap that seems to be encouraged nowadays and came across extremely knowledgeable and well spoken.  More of this please.
