Is that the Man Utd we whooped who are only a couple of points above us? We have been playing absolutely shockingly for such a long time and are still above most of the others, that really can't be good. Absolutely yes, the top 3 are exceptional and possibly the best in Europe. So where does that leave us? Three quarters up an expensive media hyped shit heap?

Is that all they are. I would imagine most people on here think Leeds plays good football. Viera has done well at Palace, Everton has good players, has a good manager... What I find funny about the selectivism (is that a word lol) on here sometimes is it's the same guff pundits through at us when we won the league. We were the only half good team in a poor league. Completely dismisses the actual teams bellow us. You know, just media hyped shit heap... not actual teams with fans who follow them, you know US a few years ago.. is this what Leicester fans have become? Jeez.  If we were playing shocking for such a long time we'd be in the relegation zone. You know, like NUFC and Norwich who have struggled. We have consistency problems and defensive problems but clearly having something like the fifth highest GF in the league means we've not been playing shocking all the time. Madderson's goal last night was a brilliant goal. But I'm sure that was a fluke in a sea off dullness and mediocrity, because you know, there's a narrative to keep moaning about. And Rodgers goes and we'll see the bright sunshine again, a rainbow appears as we emerge back into the top 4 where we belong... ignoring all those teams who compete to also be there.

Yes,  Viera is doing well in my opinion too, but Everton, good players, good manager, really?

Do you honestly believe that just because you're in a respectable position in a table without much fear of relegation that that equates to playing good or decent entertaining football? You're very easily pleased which is perhaps a good thing because you'll be the happier for it.

If somebody had told you at the start of last season that we could - if so inclined - pick a back 4 of Castagne-Evans-Soyuncu-Bertrand with Schmeichel in goal would you really expect us to have two clean sheets in 20+ games this season?

Injuries don’t help but Rodgers has the raw materials to knock together a passable defence.

Looks good on paper but we didn't realise Bertrand's legs would have totally gone (and have a stinking attitude to boot), he's nothing like the signing we thought we were getting and isn't close to being good enough for us or this league On top of that, Caglar would suffer a huge loss in confidence and become a liability under pressure, Evans would play once every 5 games or so. Leaving Castagne who is solid but hardly on top form. And then you've got Vestergaard who seems to have too many flaws in his game to be effective. Let's not buy any more players from Southampton please.

Evidence, how do you know?

were people really expecting much from bertrand? i thought he was signed just to replace fuchs as an experienced guy to have as backup. i didn't really expect him to get much game time.

Sorry to clarify I don't mean off the pitch, he might be a lovely fella, but on the pitch he is going through the motions with the minimal effort he can get away with.

Is it COVID? That's the only defence possible because watching him he seems a mercenary doing the bare minimum to pick up his wage. Hence the 'stinking attitude' comment.

He's been dreadful. But I don't buy the stinking attitude. He looked OK pre season and frankly looks totally shot now. I doubt whether that's a mental thing. I'd like to think he's busting a gut but simply has no acceleration and no stamina any more. It's gone. But not for the lack of will.

Took Kai Havertez a long time to recover and his 21, time will tell.

If it's one or the other ie past or, or lingering effects of Covid lets hope Covid meaning there is a chance he might improve because the scouting team should be shot for buying a player this bad free transfer or not! He is so bad we can't rely on him to slot in like we could with Fuchs. Same with Vestergaard too, Morgan and Fuchs are so so much better than their replacements, we've been spoiled.

most teams / players have played lots of football since this covid kicked in and with the euros and international I think its starting to show, teams are putting out inconsistent performances and the only reason the top three are doing well is due the amount of players they have in there ranks bar probably Liverpool who are a bit of an anomaly
