Reality check

People within reason through footballs tired clichés and how history often repeats itself would be right for us to stay in our lane and not strive or even demand that we continue to maximise our capabilities but that is a huge insult to what our owners and those associated with our club have achieved in the last decade.

This is a club that has built a model that backed up the statement that we'd play Champions League football within 5 years of winning the Championship. This is a club that has been the envy of every club outside the big 6 and plenty of the big 6. They've taken our scouts and coaches, they've taken our players for exorbitant prices that we signed on the cheap. We've used that to keep progressing with the foundations that we worked so hard to build and maintain. We built the best training ground in Europe and are extending our ground as a consequence to our astonishing success.

All of this was done with ambition and not settling for being a club who's got a mid table budget and mid table history. We don't care for what we ought to be, we care for what we can be and to take advantage of marginal gains on those who ought to be better than us.

Don't do our club the disservice of believing we aren't better than what we are currently dishing up, we are at risk of regression and certainly of stagnation if we aren't careful and it's a long road back when that happens. Yes we should never forget where we've come from, nor acknowledge what's rational and irrational but don't ever give up this empire we have built as easily as some of you seem to be willing to with excuses and " perspective "

Kolo Toures fault this week, now that Maddision is no longer public enemy number 1!!

Perez and Vestergaard  are waiting in the wings to take the blame soon, with the kit man and tea lady ready for February!!

I am am already prepared for the tea Lady I mean ffs, if you cant make a decent cuppa in Dunkirk situation then the World as we know it is lost...I

And an Irish Pint glass of tea Brendan is doomed forever....

He can deny ,ignore defensive problems, & set piece chaos, but no tea Service ....

It is quite hard to defy footballing gravity without a reliably fit squad. More pragmatic managers may well have coped better than BR this season with what he has had available, but we are not going to be top 4 with a squad so depleted.

The signings are more damning though. Apart from Bouba, I thought we were buying experienced players who were ready to go and who complemented what we had. To only have one CB who is dominant in the air is absolute madness. It's a primary attribute of a CB in my book

I think the reality is, when we get relegated, we’ll be screwed.

The EFL will hammer us, then we could be stuck in the football league for years to come.

Vardy goes and we’ll struggle for goals.

We need to get younger players coming through the system.

Anyone remember when people were posting after we finished 5th for the second season in a row that unless Rodgers got us in the top 4 the following season he should be sacked 😅😅😅😅 oh how far we have fallen.

Maybe if this was carried out we’d be OK now. All the top players Rodgers had at his disposal and all the terrible players he signed we are lumped with them.

It appears BR was a good coach (of players others signed), but his own signings (inc his recruitment team) is essentially the reason we are now in such a mess.

I’m not so sure how accurate that is.

I think Rodgers wanted to sign more but we played this dance with PSR.

I’d like to think he didn’t want to play Ward ….. for 90% of Premier League games!!!

Reality check.

The squad is substandard for this league.

The first team isnt goid enough.

The hierarchy is at war with each other.

There is a massive disconnect t between those atbtge top and us plebs.

The whole game is geared up for the wrong sort of customers.

Most of us will give up in a few years.

Atleast pukka lies are back though for some of you to forget the shambles on and off the pitch

Seagrave is a state of the art waste of money when you've got turkeys undertaking the recruitment and retention decision making

Rodgers was right with what he said, but it was classic reputation management from him. He was largely responsible for some of the dire recruitment.
