Gave everyone an average 6 no one stood out they all had good and bad moments.

Arsenal were average certainly not outstanding as Sky would have you believe a goal from a corner which every team manages to do and a not so clear and obvious penalty.

Players that stood out for me, but not in a good way,

Thomas, once again showed up for his vulnerability against a proper pacy or tricky winger.  In his defence, he isnt really helped out by Harvey Barnes, who really doesn`t seem to have defending in his mindset.

Maddison. Was there really any point him being on the pitch.  Very disappointing! Didnt get on the ball much, but when he did, i dont remember any noteworthy moment from him.

Nacho, Awful, Awful, Awful!  Cant play as a lone Striker, offers no threat, but then we all know this already.

Daka, even worse than Nacho, and seems to be getting worse, and even more ineffective with every game he plays at the moment.  Another one who doesnt look like he can play as a lone striker.

The rest of them, bang average, much like Arsenal, who are no where near as good as  they or the media seem to think they are.

Good enough to be in the last CL spot, with 3 matches at-hand to their closest rival.  A good deal better than we are, at any rate.

The league is very poor this season, and not being in Europe and being fresh for games like today has helped them be where they are.  I honestly didn't think they were anything special today. They beat us when we were extremely lack lustre, and with our focus on Thursdays game, with a corner, (there's a surprise) and a penalty.  I can't say i really felt we were losing because they were a class apart. I just think they along with the rest of the league, maybe Liverpool and man City apart, are bang average at best, which again is a testament to How bad we've been this season.

I think you have to put Chelsea in that top group as well.  They’re not level with Man City or even Liverpool but the gap between them and Arsenal is pretty huge.

Kasper made some decent saves.

Other than that, I'm honestly struggling. It was a pathetic performance and most, if not all players, were very poor.

Ricardo is looking like a shadow of himself 2 years ago .

I hope it's not long term.

Thomas is too slow for a top class defender.

Amartey was decent again yesterday. Though I question why either him or Cags are not on the front post for the corner they scored.

Poor up top without Vardy and that's the managers fault.

Madison looked lost yesterday.

At least Barnes and Albrighton tried.

If BR is looking to rest players why not swap Barnes for Lookman at HT.

And why bring Wilf on when he left him out for a rest. The game was lost at that stage just bring on Hamza.

Weird decisions from the Manager that's hard to explain.

I agree with that except that I also thought that Big Dan was excellent.

The organisation at corners is determined by the manager. I assume Big Dan and Cags were asked to mark their CBs. As we literally had no other tall players in yesterday's team, that meant poor old Luke Thomas being asked to mark a big unit like Partey, which was only going to end one way....

He was looking really good against West ham and Wolves but then picked up another 2 week injury, which puts him back again. He can't seem to break the cycle of picking up short term injuries after he puts a run of games together.

That's my point, it's the manager who is at fault but it's the same every game. One of Cags or Dan should take the front post. Then you have a chance of cutting the Ball out. The the other takes a position in the centre of Goal.

If the ball is hit to the back post the angle favours the keeper.

So we should be able to deal with it.

Even when they come forward for our corners they stay too close together.

Brendan isn't even sorting that out.  It's bazaar.

Let's hope a recovery approach is used with him to the end of the season. Then with a full preseason he gets back to his best for next season.

I think that we usually use Ndidi and Vardy to guard the front post, but of course neither started yesterday. There is of course a very pressing need to address the general lack of height, physicality and aggression in our current squad. Until we do that, I think we'll always be vulnerable defending corners, however we organise ourselves.

That is exactly the problem. The balance of the team is all wrong.

What worries me is Brendan doesn't seem to see that.

He's had 4 Windows to address it and other than Vesty signing done nothing about it. And you can't carry a player throughout a game just for Corners.

We're so close to a really good side if he just addresses these few issues.

Leo Ulloa did this role perfectly at the front of the six yard box ...i would have thought Kelechi should be capable of doing it as well...or Ndidi

but putting Vardy or Thomas there isnt going to work

Just shows the bloody love-in again on here for Big Dan

How the Hell he can be rated above Dewsbury Hall yesterday is baffling!

Dewsbury Hall was awful as well, for some reason was rarely going forward with the ball.

It was such a poor performance from all.

Dewsbury Hall was the best of a very average bunch and was the main reason why we had that spell in the first half when we controlled the game. He wasn’t awful. And as for Amartey.. he was ok but what about his game was any better than Soyuncu for instance?
As in, a full point?

Only on FT…
🤷‍♂️

It all depends on your point of view. I definitely didn’t think either KDH or Amartey were awful. KDH didn’t have one of his best games but he put the effort in and just didn’t have the end product or drive we now expect to see. He put in a shift against Rennes less than three days earlier. Dan I thought looked solid again. As a team we did look a bit lacklustre and the defending at that first corner was very disappointing. Big shame given our recent improvement. I wish cags hadn’t left his fingertips dangling as he has immense recently. I’ve seen them not given which is frustrating.
