Probably grateful of the break, Ronnie was flying.

He was - but that was his frame to lose, and would have been quite different going in 9-7 rather than 10-6.

Read yesterday the beeb are phasing out Dennis Taylor and John Virgo from commentary box next year.

Shame, they add a bit of humour occassionaly which is nice if they replace them with Joe Perry and Shaun Murphy it's a bad choice.

Would be a shame to lose them both but got a feeling the beeb want fresh ideas.

Not a fan of either Murphy or Doherty.

I saw it likened to Motson retiring from Match of the Day, but he had been ready to go for years,  he was awful. I think these two are still very good, especially Virgo. I mean I know he's in his mid 70's but it's hardly a tough job, he'd probably be sat at home watching anyway :D

Also the likes of Murphy, Perry and Doherty still technically have a tour card, there's a chance they could have them all be unavoidable should they stay in tournaments. And they all feel like they are co commentators, not ready to lead yet.

Anyway feel like the momentum is with Willams here. He'll be gutted when the session ends, I'm sure he'd want to keep going playing like this. From looking very much out of it, he's back in with a real chance.

Dennis Taylor is OK but for me John Virgo almost screams into Mic and God forbid if the cue ball goes in off . Not a big fan of Murphy but all the others are fine.

Snooker isn't the same if the evening session finishes before 10pm like this one looks likely to..lol

Love a occasional dramatic frame but the standard of them both tonight is brilliant. Once chance snooker.

I do enjoy the world snooker but usually end up turning it over when Virgo is on commentary. He is that annoying to me, especially as he screams constantly when one of his favourites is scoring well.

I never rated Motson. He was too keen on  trying to impress viewers with his knowledge of different players , clubs etc when not relevant to the match you were watching  Always preferred Barry Davies in the old days

Best I have ever seen Ronnie, every part of his game. When he needs to grind it he has been sticking with Higgins and not going for anything outrageous or unnecessary, playing the right shots. When in the balls he doesn’t miss, he is winning the match and mind games Higgins started to lose it altogether in the last couple of frames. Brilliant match play from Ronnie absolutely stunning, it has been machine like

Excellent from Williams, down to a best of 5 now. 14-14

To think they were talking at the end of the first session about whether there would be a final one!

You can’t count a guy like Williams out of it, he has that ability to just rattle in a few frames on the bounce… I never counted him out
