Truss meeting 1922 committee chairman

Prime Minister Liz Truss is meeting Graham Brady, the chairman of the influential 1922 Committee of backbench MPs, No 10 has confirmed.

No reason has been given for why the meeting is taking place.

The 1922 Committee oversees the election of Conservative leaders.

How's the lettuce doing?

An unscheduled meeting between the PM and Graham Brady, the head of the 1922 Committee of backbench Tory MPs, is taking place.

Downing Street sources have said the prime minister requested the meeting with Sir Graham Brady.

Oh well, it'd be SO much worse under Corbyn, who let it be remembered, is simultaneously useless AND so powerful that the entire press corps moved against him.

He showed enough poor judgment over the years for me to say it could well have been ….

Let’s put it this way - we knew she would be a disaster (although no one could have realised just how stupid ) and the majority would have been shocked if corbyn had turned out to be capable.

Incompetent leadership, no clear direction, situation spiralling out of control, interviews which are total nonsense.

Copying and pasting to be posted in the politics thread and the Brendan thread.

A Downing Street source has said the PM called the meeting with Sir Graham Brady because she "wants to keep in touch with the mood of the party".

She didn't seriously need a meeting to determine that, surely? Really?
