Because (I think) they are outnumbered by people who would suddenly 'know my rights'.

Considering the club sends you an email asking why you weren't there if you don't go to a game, maybe they should also consider sending the early leavers a similar questionnaire

It's just one of those things that has come to be seen over time as disrespectful. You might not agree with social norms, but as with all sorts of things you can either respect the norms or be seen as bad-mannered and selfish. Leaving a game early, to me, is a bit like speaking in a theatre or a library, or bringing your packed lunch to a bar. Those around you, and those doing their jobs, don't approve, so you're likely to come across as being disrespectful if you insist on doing it. Perhaps all of us have done all of these things at some point or other, and had our reasons, but it's not worthy of defending. And I wouldn't want to make an enemy of a librarian either, because they can be quite spiteful.

How much due you owe in late return fines?

Is this true?

I'm not a ST holder and I don't get to go to many games on a single ticket but if it is, that's a bizarre intrusion into your privacy

youd think so, its probably in the T&Cs/small print or something that they can send you them emails tbf

back in the 90's Roy Keane famously moaned about the prawn sandwich brigade, a slight at the type of supporters United were attracting in their success that offered little in terms of doing what a supporter should: support.

Perhaps it's as a result of being treated as a customer rather than a supporter. We as supporters are being called entitled, what seems on quite a regular basis now, maybe they're right.

Is a response required to the emails?

If so, mine would be "mind your own ****ing business". Or would that get me a ban? lol

It is. The first time I took it seriously, I had a heavy flu that would have been selfish to share with those sat around me and I entered a detailed report of my symptoms like a sick note. Most other times it’s because Sky have moved the game to a stupid time.

I wish they’d email about the games I did attend, “sorry we were s** t on Saturday and set out to keep the score down like a training drill, We know you paid hard earned money to watch this shower of s**t and humbly apologise for the pitiful display you witnessed”

If there were lot's of people buying ST's and not going, it would lead to a poor look for the club, so in defense of the club, I think they have a right to know whether you're attending or not

I’m always there till the death, as for the leavers, serves ‘em right!

Which is the right outlook. They are missing out, not those who stay. :dunno:

no i dont think so

tbf im with you, i dont think its any of their business really, probably wondering why you didnt resell the ticket or something,

My question to them is, what is the point in coming? Whats the point in spending all that money, to leave early…… do these same people go to the cinema and **** off with ten minutes left?

There’s some people who would love to go to the footy, but can’t afford it, so why would you get tickets and then not stay to the end?

How about treating money paying supporters with a bit more respect.

I bet the overlap in the Venn diagram between 'leaving early' and '(vocally) supporting the team' is near-zero.

(Memo to self: *do not* share your thoughts on modern 'supporters' or the atmosphere at games on this forum. Keep your old-school thoughts to yourself!!!)

IMO they have absolutely no right to know anything about what you do instead of attending a match.

Maybe letting the club know ahead of a game but even then, I don't understand. It's your ST, you paid for it. You can use it as often as you can, or not at all. The money is still in the club's bank.

I don't get why this is an issue, if people want to leave early let them its not a personal attack on those that stay

Tbf when the queues are going down the steps it does obstruct the views for the rest of us who stay until the end.

Was pretty gnarly today actually.  As soon as the 2nd went in it emptied out around us. Sure, the weather was horrible, but if you want fight from your players then you do need to do your bit sometimes. Nick one back and anything is possible - we've seen other teams do this so many times. Bournemouth did it today as well.

We were treated to a fantastic last 10 mins. Glad we stayed :)

I tend to agree with this.

Supporters expect the players to give it their all for 90+ mins. Therefore it seems a bit disingenuous to leave before the final whistle.

Missed the Villa game as my wife was giving birth.

I'm sure whoever sifted through the responses enjoyed the close up picture of my Missus' smashed up nether regions.

Won't be long before they introduce a minimum game requirement else you lose the ST.
