Would some still complain if someone had left around 10 minutes or so early in a theatre show?..

I went to see 'we will rock you' a few years ago. There is a well known encore, but loads of people around us disappeared before this. Brian May turned up to do the solos. Not as good as seeing Vardy score but still a decent moment.

Weird to leave early.

This seems to be one of the the most divisive /explosive topics on FT aside from Rudkin and AWAY STH points holders, anyway.

I don't have an opinion either way.

Haven't left early since having to get an hourly train to Narborough on the 6th Dec 2003 vs Arsenal when Craig Hignett scored as I was on the way to London Road:angry:.

Even persuaded my lad on the night of the 18th May 2017 to stay after 87 mins, it was 4-1 at that point, not sure of the validity of the choice as Kane hit his 4th in the 91st minute and I'll be honest did feel like a fire drill before we had left, weren't many left that night.

I do occasionally have a cheeky one at half time OR have to use the facilities during the game.  There are plenty that do BOTH of these activities, hence not seeing the whole game OR a good percentage of the fans that are thirsty from the 38th minute onwards and slow to finish from 46-50mins???

Will the Attendance Police be outing them in due course?  And what about the late attending fans, that happens in droves????

I got in at half time once vs Arsenal and had come back from holiday in LA to see that 2nd half, worth it mind 0-0 to 3-0 and Brentford from the Commonwealth games in Brum.

When we had the last big spat on this 18 months ago, one of my mates said its the ticket I/He pay's for, I can decide when and how long I attend. He has a point thats hard to argue with.

Mind I sit 3 seats from the end of the row looking down the pitch and all the early exitees block my view, heavily frustrating and I think they should probably stay but it is what it is.

All the fans personalise their experience in their own way, its a shame for them IF they leave early, but should so many others get angry about it???  Its their choice.  But hundreds miss other parts of the game.

I'll stand in front of you for a while, blocking your view. Bothered yet?

tbf looking at the whole picture, its no different when people arrive late or go to the concourse on the 40th min....and dont get back by kick off of the 2nd half etc

all in the same ball park imo

I say this about the cinema, do they leave early to beat the traffic out of Meridian o to the outer ring, mongies can’t answer that one.

I heard someone say they had to go to feed the rabbit, feed the rabbit?

What an utter twat, it’s a wild animal that has no concept of time and who the feck feeds a rabbit at 4pm on a Sunday, just feck off you mongy and never come back, let a supporter who  will support the boys to the final whistle have your seat.

Probably one of the 7000 new STH after we got  promoted in 2014 that all of a sudden had the time, money and no other commitments to attend all home games whereas for the decade or more before they’d always string out an excuse why they couldn’t go, hence 10,000 empty seats every home game.

How people can leave 5 minutes early every home game is beyond me.

That’s the equivalent of missing a game over a season!

bigger picture on it, no different to people arriving to kick off late or going down the concourse before HT

Except they come and go quicker and don't stop on the steps, blocking your view, taking 5 minutes saying their goodbyes and then standing in front of others because they cannot actually get on the stairs because of countless others who have made to leave yet suddenly stop there watching, stood up and therefore impairing those still seated and, of course, creating a safety hazard.

Apart from that, no different at all.

tbf i get that with all of them on a matchday

and it depends on the people too and where you are in the ground

Think HPF is on the right track here.

Leaving at any point itself is not an issue, the reason or lack of doesn't matter in the slightest.

Being a selfish knob by standing in front of people for ages while you say bye and try and watch the game as you leave, is affecting others. If you want to leave, then slink out as quickly as possible so everyone who wants to stay can actually watch the game.

Anyone giving the excuse of missing the traffic is a bit of a womble. If you park further away and walk a bit you don't get caught up in the traffic immediately around the ground where, suprise suprise it's a bit congested.

I left after full time yesterday and was back home in Rugby just over an hour later. And my rabbit hadn't keeled over and died of malnutrition

(Obvs exempt anyone from the above who is differently abled below the waist)

People are free to leave when they want I guess. I'd prefer they didn't because imo the more that stay at the end the better the players may/should feel. If I was a player/manager looking at people leaving early I think I would feel a liitle bit down about it. A good relationship between fans and players generally leads to better outcomes.

For the Nth time, it is because they're often totally inconsiderate of those that want to watch the entire match.

Why would it bother some, though?

If someone wanted to leave on the row I was on and go past me, I wouldn't get annoyed just to sit up for the sake of a few seconds and sit down again when they're gone and carry on with watching the game.

If it's happened to you (and it has to me) that is just the beginning of the issue.

Re the cinema there are probably 100 people in a showing with parking outside the door, not 30,000 - daft comparison.

Don’t use the term Mongie either, unless you think offending disabled people is fun.

For those of us that stay til the end, can we petition for a slide at the top of the Kop to get out a little quicker. Does my ****ing head in every game being stuck on the stairs.

It'd be nice if, when they eventually get around to expanding the East stand, they add extra staircases to the back of the existing tier.

It would certainly help.

Once heard an elderly man, when they were standing up for someone else to past them, say "You're affecting my liberty here, you know"..
