Even allowing for the likeliest logic - that Iversen is visibly and considerably worse in training than Ward - it wouldn't be the first time a manager will have rolled the dice on a poor trainer. 

 

Rodgers has shown there are no sacred cows, until Ward that is. Maddison, Tielemans, Wilf, Vards, Castagne, Ricardo, Barnes have all been dropped at some point. Perhaps Evans remains the only player never to have been dropped due to form. Baffling. 

Even Kasper got dropped for his 150th game, so you do have a point. It's truly mind boggling.
