Telegraph: Leicester jagar Emma Holmgren (fotbollskanalen.se)

Bit more from Sweden, suggests Lyon rate her highly and don't want to let her go, which says two things, 1. If Lyon of all clubs, that have had Sarah Bouhaddi & now Tiane Endler as their #1 Keepers for the last decade plus, think she's good enough, then she is a quality player and 2. With a year left on her deal and no suggestion of a loan move it means we'll have to pay a fee for the first time

I buy the interest being real, Tom Garry is good and no agent is floating our name out there to try and force Lyon's hand into a new contract lol

LCFC Women Confirm Signing Of Ellen Jones
LCFC WOMEN
Published 1 hr 2 mins ago

LCFC Women is pleased to announce the signing of young forward Ellen Jones, subject to league approval and international clearance.
- LCFC Women sign midfielder Ellen Jones
- The 19-year-old joins from Colorado Buffaloes
- She is a Wales youth international and started her career at Bristol City

The 19-year-old joins the Foxes from Colorado Buffaloes, who she has represented in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 since 2021.

She started her career with Bristol City, making her debut for the Vixens in November 2020, before moving to the University of Colorado a year later.

Speaking to LCFC TV, she said: "It feels amazing to be here and I'm excited to come back to the WSL after some time in America - coming to Leicester is a great opportunity for me. I had a number of options, but Leicester felt like the right fit.

“This Club is a great place to be, and the Club is striving for more progress. I was 17 when I last played in the WSL with Bristol City before going out to America, and I think getting that WSL exposure at that age will only help me."

Internationally, Jones has represented Wales at youth level, and now links up with City ahead of the new Barclays Women’s Super League campaign, which starts at Everton on Sunday 11 September (1pm BST kick-off).

Seen on the news the other day that they have sold more than double the season tickets they did last year. Hopefully they can have a good season and keep hold of those new season ticket holders and attract more fans along the way.

....it was always going to go that way with the LCFC men no longer playing on a Sunday!!!

This will be a great season for them, if we can build on what we did last season then we should not be hovering near the bottom. You just do not know the quality of the people they have brought in, just hope they have brought in someone with pace and have a combination upfront that troubles the opponents' backline.

Looking forward to seeing Plumptre play, still think she will be better in the midfield, she has the ability to transition the play, not sure if Bedford will look to go down that line, however.

Yes, it’s the unknown of how the new signings will settle in. I felt last season we lacked pace and guile upfront, physicality and experience (massively) hopefully they’ve improved on all that.

Hope they prove me wrong, but I'm not convinced they've done enough over the summer to avoid relegation.

I know what your saying. I'm unsure myself and I think Sunday will give me a much better idea. It's a good opening fixture I think, should be a good barometer.

Bedford really changed them 2nd half of last season and they started playing with more style and belief, it was great to see.  There's some experience and talent come in too, so I'm optimistic that will see the upwards trajectory continue.

They had a good middle third to the season just after Bedford came in. But then it fell apart quite dramatically again. The final 7 games of the season went 0-4, 2-3, 0-9, 0-5, 0-4, 0-0, 0-1. I just don't see where the goals are going to come from.

I only recall us really falling apart the once, I don't recall which game, Chelsea I think. I recall us chasing shadows, camped in our own half and trying hopeful long balls, but otherwise doing our best when clearly outclassed. But, yes, we weren't making decent chances up front.

Time alone will tell and whilst I don't expect us to other than struggle, I'm hopeful we have enough.

...I don't think it will take that much to be above mid-table, just better organised and more pace in the team!!!
