I don’t think there will be too many surprises

               Schmeichel

Castagne, Fofana, Evans, Justin

      Tielemans, Ndidi, KDH

    Maddison, Vardy, Barnes

At the back I can see Ricardo coming on to replace Timmy and Amartey for Evans. Soumare or Praet likely to feature too depending on how players tire and score line. Daka for Vardy on 65 minutes to keep him fresh.

Vardy Barnes Maddison to score with Brentford to take the lead and Leicester to win 3-1. Scorching hot day and drinks break required. There you go.

That will be the team hate maddison on the left but least it gets all the players in that should be

Fairly predictable what will happen! City passing the ball wonderfully, at speed and with purpose. Culmination of the pre-season. Looking superb.

Then Brentford get a corner or free kick and float the ball gently to the edge of the six yard box where Kasper can gather it unchallenged. However - he sees a Brentford player somewhere in the area, panics and retreats to his line.  Evans and Wes think 'WTF?' - The ball pings round the area - one-nil to Brentford.

Wont ever change - until we get a keeper with enough bottle to claim (or punch) a high ball.

Was it 19 (or 20?) times last season?

DEFINITELY don't play Fofana in the Sevilla game. too much PTSD.

side for Brentford

Castagne Fofana Evans Justin

Ndidi

Tielemans KDH

Maddison

Vardy Barnes

plenty of latitude for us to change formation, personnel, strikers as the game progresses - with 5 subs available.

Could shift to three at the back at any point and then change both strikers toward the end. It actually helps our ability to switch between rodgers two favoured formations.

switch up could be:

Ndidi /Barnes sacrificed at HT/60 for Ricardo/Iheanacho

Schmeichel

Castagne Ricardo Evans

Ricardo Tielemans KDH Justin

Maddison

Vardy Iheanacho

Then at 70 Daka can come in for Vardy....

If, and its a big if, they can all stay fit for the season, that is a very good side that can be pushing towards the top 6. Then we also have Daka, Nacho, Soyuncu, Praet, Castagne, Albrighton (still reliable when called upon), Thomas, Mendy who are all good back up options, if we don't sell any of them. Just have to try and ignore that we have Vestergaard and Bertrand still lingering. An injury to Barnes would be an issue as we have no other wingers but would probably mean a shift in system to not use wingers.

Good point about Barnes. Albrighton is much underrated and always mr reliable but I’d like to see us try and get lookman in for extra strength if only on another loan deal. He seemed to gel well with the team well which is always a gamble if you look elsewhere. Who knows what is going on behind the scenes with him though and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back at some point soon.

I know it won’t happen but personally i’d line up with praet on the right side of a 4 2 3 1

With KDH instead of youri (unless that’s been put to bed)

Will be interesting how we utilise the extra subs, with the best 3 full backs available you could regularly introduce one on 70 mins for the fresh legs, similarly Daka for or joining Vardy ( who regardless of age comfortably finishes matches still). It works both ways though, opponents can throw on a couple of lively wingers more readily than before or a new front pairing and give you new problems to deal with. If Praet and Youri are both around I could see that being a regular substitution. Just hope we can get one or two more wingers in with pace to give us that option rather than retreat and try to contain leads late on.

I don't think we need Ndidi against anyone but the top 6, his lack of passing ability can really stifle us against sides who sit in.

I'm not sure i agree with that at all. If anything we need him more in games that teams sit back and try and hit us on the break.

Wilf is one of the best in the league at ball recovery. We need him to sit in a be the one that breaks down any potential counter attacks when we get caught too high up the pitch. Especially with how high our full backs play up the pitch.

The 'top 6' you could argue that you do not need Wilf as we tend to sit in and look for fast counter attacks which isn't a strong part of his game. Personally though the way we play he should be the first name on your team sheet every week.

Callum Wright has looked decent - he could do a job on either wing

We have a fully fit team don't we? This must be the first time in years Brendan can put out his first 11.

Can anyone remember the last time he did this?

A good couple of years. We need to get through Sunday yet.....

He has looked very decent. I’d still rather we got lookman so as to not put too much pressure on but I would be happy to play him if not. Just a bit more of a gamble. I am all for blooding the youngsters at the right opportunity. I really hope one or two have a breakthrough season.
