VHS Tapes

Clearing out my parents garage and I can't in good conscious throw out the boxful of old LCFC videotapes in there without offering onwards first.

I don't have a VHS player so can't even check they still work, but if someone wants to take there chances please PM me.

Mix of season highlights (from early 90's when they came in 'volumes', up to circa 2000) and compilation ones...

Guaranteed porn diaguised as an lcfc tape so nobody would watch it. Not that I've done that before.

I've just asked my brother who has a VHS player (he's a bit of a hipster) and he works for a film production company who'd be able to transfer the tapes for you? He wouldn't charge anything.

 

I can share each season back on here for people to watch once he's done it.

I never managed to move these on and loft conversion commences next week so they need rehoming in the next few weeks or will be tip bound.

PM me if you would like - can handover prior to West Ham game, potentially Liverpool albeit I'm coming straight from work so might be pressed for time

Some charity shops don't take DVD's now let alone VHS - plus I live in Bedford so the market is probably small for 90's Leicester videos...

 

Had a few people PM before about taking & getting them uploaded to youtube etc so thats my ideal but if noone wants FOC landfill it is

Where abouts in Bedford are you?

A few of us sometimes meet up for days up on the train or watching  games in pubs.

 

PS, I've also got loads of Leicester tapes and programmes, looking for a good home 👍🦊

I say Bedford but actually Cranfield so a few miles out.

Will bear the pubs in mind - drive to games as theres 3 of us so if ever a lift is needed

It shows how good the 1991-92 season was (compared to what had gone on the previous few years) ... that you were excited enough to get monthly highlights videos!

 

(btw, 91-92 it was a great season  ... one of my favourites)

There's a few of us in town and quite a few in the villages north of Bedford 

Just hope that some pubs remain open as they're closing at an alarming rate😡

It was a good time after some really crap years.

Getting info on Leicester was difficult in those days , living out of the city.

 

Going to games and waiting at Leicester Station after the game for the pinkun paper  (I think that was what it was called) was the only way to get any news

I think I called it the "Sports Mercury", but yeah, same principle.  

Waiting outside Leicester station, van pulls up, bloke quickly grabs a bundle of papers from the back of the van, throws them down to the seller, then zooms off again.

It made the train trips home much less boring ... poring over all the football results and tables.

Great days ... scrolling on your phone, just doesn't have quite the same appeal, as spread out over a table reading the results!
