Not a big fan of him, but completely out of order him being boo'd.

 

Wouldnt mind seing him & Nelson pairing although its quite evident the defence is built around Vestergaard.

He's somebody about 75% of our fans love to hate. He obviously has a clanger in him but he does play well most of the time and he doesn't get any credit for it. It's just when he doesn't play well - he's normally at fault for a goal.

No, it wasn't in jest. The booing started AFTER he angrily gestured with his fist to the fans and then started cupping his ears

It's not 30k fans. It's a section of fans. The same section that are negative about everything the club does. The same fans who were booing after 45 minutes of the first game of the season. The same fans that are getting us labelled 'entitled' up and down the country.

 

Faes is 100x the player they could ever hope to be and If they can't take the stick from him, they shouldn't give it out in the first place.

Having some bite is exactly what we have been lacking for years. 

Admittedly its a shame its at his own fans, but....

The question I was replying to was 'why would you boo your own player for scoring', to which I pointed out that the booing when he scored started AFTER he gestured to the fans and cupped his ears... people weren't randomly booing him for scoring

Clearly audible in SK2. It’s a great ticket for success isn’t it. ****ing booing a player coming on. I walked back with some Wednesday fans and they commented how embarrassing it was.

He ain’t the first player to be boo’d by his own fans and won’t be the last 

 

Don’t mind players showing passion but definitely came across as arrogance and out of touch 

 

The club is a mess, we’ve just been relegated again with a lot of players responsible for it playing yesterday. You’ve got a new manager who looks to be trying to build a connection with the fans and you’ve got a CB who has been apart of 2 relegations cupping his ears and shushing the fans, sums a lot of our problems up.

Which he only did after being boo when he came on, cause and effect you can't unlink the two events.

Looked better than Okoli in this game, although the Wednesday threat had pretty much evaporated by the time he came on. Would not be surprised to see the Vestergaard Faes pairing reunited for the next one to start.

I completely agree it's cause and effect... because why did fans boo when he came on? Because cupping his ear and gesturing to the fans is something he has done several times over the last couple of seasons, often without genuine reason and usually followed up by some horrendous interviews or actions thinking he is bigger and better than the club

I’m really confused on this one…. He’s has had some bad and some good performances…:  arguably our best centre half last year?  Yet he’s just not popular at all…

 

He had every right to feel aggrieved 

I'm not a fan of his. 

His first game was Tottenham A, 6-2 to the home team.  He has been integral to stopping the ball going into our net for the last 3 seasons, we have been relegated twice.  Unless I am mistaken Professional Sport and Football in particular is a results business.

He needs to own some of that, and that perhaps is his worst trait, ownership of a multitude of mistakes, repeatedly over a fairly lengthy period of a time.

Lets compare to a number who came before, Wes, Huth, Cags, Evans, Fofana,  even Amartey on his day.  Is he better?

He described it as a "dream" and expressed his eagerness to play in the Premier League, well it must be the League NOT the club, because since we plummetted that first season, can't say he has ever exuded happiness or most importantly reliability AND he has been rinsed by the Belgian press at the time for his national performances, can't be coincidence.

He does the job in the Championship, the guy is NOT a top flight defender, and along with Vestergaard and others, I wish the club would recognise that, 1/2 to 2/3's of that side AREN'T Premier league standard.

so he’s not the worst defender, he’s just a not very good one.
