Strokes Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 I think that hume finishing on saturday proved that he is capable of getting 20 goals a season for us, and could easily prove to be as valuable a dickov was 02/03
Katy Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 I think that hume finishing on saturday proved that he is capable of getting 20 goals a season for us, and could easily prove to be as valuable a dickov was 02/03 Hes the new Steve Claridge
Strokes Posted 28 November 2005 Author Posted 28 November 2005 Hes the new Steve Claridge now u mention it he does have that scruffy look about him. his sock were round his ankles as well
Katy Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 now u mention it he does have that scruffy look about him. his sock were round his ankles as well Yip and the hair and his first goal was Claridgesque
Strokes Posted 28 November 2005 Author Posted 28 November 2005 Yip and the hair and his first goal was Claridgesque yeah well IF Levein plays him i reckon he could shoot us well up the table his performance on saturday was nothing short of emphatic
Dr The Singh Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 He has shown, if you give him time and space, he will score!! I don't think he is as direct as dickov, he likes to drop into midfield etc, but let's hope he gets alot more goals. I can see abit of resemblance with claridge but claridge was more of a poacher, lets hope Humey can poach like claridge!!
Sly Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 yeah well IF Levein plays him i reckon he could shoot us well up the table his performance on saturday was nothing short of emphatic Hume does need a good run in the team, your right. However, lets calm down a bit here. One Swallow doesn't make a summer. I want to see a few more performances like Saturdays before I'd say he's capable of netting 20 a season. Before the Sheffield Utd game I'd of said he wasn't capable of scoring 10. A lot of clubs in this division have players who are capable of netting 20+ goals a season on there day, unfortunately they can't perform consistently week in week out. That my friends is what makes a good striker.

Gené and Tonic Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 He's a very good finisher. I wouldn't be suprised if he got 20 goals next season. He just needs to add a bit of power and strength to his game.
breadandcheese Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Hume is definitely the best forward we have at the club. He gets into good positions, drags defenders and certainly looks a handful. If he has the right attitude (which it appears he does from his commited performances and willingness to run) he will prove very good indeed.
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Sorry to damp the mood but I am not sure if he can after all he only can get 15 goals a season in league one
Libertine Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Sorry to damp the nood but I am not sure if he can after all he only can get 15 goals a season in league one But with better service and style of play, he may be able to get around 20. And he mainly played as an attacking midfielder for Tranmere.
Mark Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Sorry to damp the nood but I am not sure if he can after all he only can get 15 goals a season in league one Stepping up a division = Playing with better players = more chances to score goals. You've also got better coaches and at 21 he's only going to get better. Dickov only started scoring regularly at 30, he didn't score 15 goals for Man City in League 1 when he was about 28. So, no he isn't.
martyn Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Considering the fact that he is more of a support striker, 15 goals is a reasonably tally to expect from Hume
The People's Hero Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Why does someone always have to be the new 'someone else'? Can't be just be Iain Hume? Why the stupid comparisons?
Mark Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Why does someone always have to be the new 'someone else'? Can't be just be Iain Hume? Why the stupid comparisons? As long as he turns out to be a good player for us, it's good enough for me.
The People's Hero Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005  As long as he turns out to be a good player for us, it's good enough for me. Precisely.
Katy Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Ahh feck off you pair if we wanna compare we will
Katy Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Feck off yourself! At least I did mine with a smilie face. Seriously though, I think Humey would be flattered to be compared to a Leicester great, of course hes his own player but he will be compared to others because thats what people do.
Cobbo Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Feck off yourself! You feck off! Humey is a gambling, scruffy, ugly git. Aka Claridge
The People's Hero Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Sorry - not being on smilies - here's one for you though - I actually thought this myself when I saw Hume's play for the first time against Soton and again reminiscent of Dickov in his goals vs Sheff Utd. I think the similarities are down to physical stature, work rate and emphatic, hard hit goals. Having said that, I don't really like pigeon-holing players or making comparisons to others. Hume is Hume is Hume. And you can quote me on that.
Louise Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 Hume reminds me more of Connolly than Dickov really...
Blue Arrow Posted 28 November 2005 Posted 28 November 2005 He doesn't really remind me of anyone at the minute, then i again ihave only been to 1 match where he started
