Nor are the "red wall" first-time Tories from the last election. The dyed in wool Tories have had things their way too long anyway. As for the first time red wall Tory voters hopefully the scales will fall from their eyes as the country and public services crumble around them

They seem policies aimed at the more dyed in the wool Tories whose vote they already have. Guess the olive branch to the centrists will be at the budget next year when money appears. They’ll try and replicate Turkey. Rampant inflation, thousands killed in an earthquake due to corruption in not maintaining buildings and miles behind in the polls. Then just offered free electricity and gas and the voters lapped it up. The same can definitely happen here. Taxes are so high now so that the tories can promise to slash them if they win an election, and then won’t do it anyway.

The excellent way that the channel's presenter, Nelson Lopez, explains chess tactics. Having said that, to the best of my knowledge, he's never covered the topic of shoving something up one's rear end as a way of gaining an advantage in chess! 1

leicsmac Posted 26 September 2023 Posted 26 September 2023 Just a slightly higherbrow reimagining of the "town full of *****" chant that sadly has been sometimes heard at the KP, I think. The intent and contemptuous mindset behind both is the same. 1

Second generation "asian". Married a Jewish lad, now shes a Buddhist. Bet shes never had a fecking red tissue box holder in her car or ever owned a Datsun. Wonder if she was told to " Feck off back to her own country" growing up, spat at or chased by NF? She's not one of "us" that's for sure🤣🤣 1 6
Popular Post ALC Fox Posted 26 September 2023 Popular Post Posted 26 September 2023 How dare she comment on what things are like in our city. She's just trying to drive a wedge between communities in an area where, largely, I'd say multiculturalism has been a success. Playing up to a certain voter, trying to win a manufactured culture war. I say that as a straight, white male, so obviously there will be a huge number of experiences of which I'm completely unaware. There will surely be victims of racial harassment and hate crimes on this forum. And, even in my own narrow experience, I've witnessed flashpoints between different communities and I've heard people of my own ethnicity utter racial slurs thinking that they were in a 'safe' place to do so. But, from what I've seen, people of different ethnicities and backgrounds in Leicester generally tend to come together and live alongside each other in relative harmony. When I lived in the city, I used to work in teams consisting of people either from - or with heritage from - places including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Poland, the Caribbean and Ghana. I often think about some of the laughs we had at team meals, playing football together, etc. I grew up with friends at school from many different backgrounds. Braverman is wrong about Leicester. She's just parroting Laurence Fox and his ilk while knowing nothing about what she's talking about, jumping on the troubles in Highfields recently and applying broad brushstrokes, trying to comment about the entire city 100% of the time. She's wrong. Our city isn't perfect but it is incredible. 8
