I relocated into the section from L1 (rip) in the summer. First game in there August there's a flyer on every seat from them with an invite to their pub and how to get involved. Hardly a closed shop?

People bang on about singers not being better supporters etc but quite often after players have played in a match where the atmosphere has been good they will openly comment on it. 

Maddison has said on a few occassions that the fans were so loud or really backed the team and it helped to get them over the line etc

Vardy also does similar.

 

Never have i ever heard one of our players  come out and say 'i really appreciated the silence that the fans created today, it helped us all to concentrate' 

Even Rodgers will comment when it's quiet!

 

Players want to play on the biggest stage, in the best atmospheres and in the biggest matches not in ****ing silence.

Only thing I’d agree with about the ufs slander is the closed book as no one really knows what’s going on. I don’t really get what the protest about but maybe with some context it would make sense. Think they are excellent other then being very closed off to other fans in my opinion.

Good on them for doing something. How much of this forum is people saying ‘the clubs dead mate it’s a shambles I’m off to Anstey nomads from now dead mate it’s gone’ whilst clicking renew season ticket in the same breath. It’s a shame I can’t see most usernames as I imagine it’s the same people posting it over and over again to try and win internet points

Definition; SUPPORTER: a person who gives encouragement and approval to someone or something. 
 

Sitting there doing nothing is not giving encouragement to the players on the pitch clearly. As I said, you’re a spectator not a supporter.

So then why are you so bothered? This is what I don’t get about people who sing. If you want to sing, then do it. Why are you so bothered about people who don’t?

 

This is the problem with the social media generation, you’re all more worried about clout online with opposition fans than actually just going to the game to enjoy it.

UFS can’t win when it comes to ‘informing people’. If they release a statement, they get labelled as trying to dominate and preachy to the fanbase and tell them what to do. If they keep quiet for their reasonings, they get labelled like they have done this weekend. 
 

Personally I total understand the reasoning for not saying why they did the silence. It made a very obvious point about atmosphere. Equally (I’m trying to find this difficult to explain) they are there to improve the atmosphere as leaders of it but they are not ‘all’ of the atmosphere.
 

They’ve been put on a pedestal in the process of the singing section - that’s happened by default and now they are the brunt of negativity when it occurs. They’ve put themselves out there - and people use it as a target. Yet when it comes to the whole matchday at LCFC, there’s plenty of other targets deserving of criticism. 
 

Ultimately their goal is getting the ground to be vocal in support. You don’t need to be a member of UFS to do that. You don’t need to be informed of their decisions to do that. You don’t need to read a website or have a leaflet. You can join the signing section and sing whilst not being a member. They aim to be a catalyst to do that. 
 

I like them in the whole and have some good friends in the group because firstly their aims are largely based around community and secondarily, there’s an independence to them that is sadly lacking at some facets of the club.
