@Ric Flair any thoughts on the merits of playing a kangaroo? Reckon they'd have a strong kick, good vertical leap and good in the air

We'd have an air of menace about us with one of those in there, seldom seen since the days of Ali Mauchlen.

Absolutely love the pod but how come you all pronounce Faes as 'Fez'? Bugs the pedant in me!lol

This I agree with! I’m sure it’s closer to the ‘farce’ he is 👀

Another great pod- always enjoy the alert telling me there is a new episode.

Interesting that you all believe the crowd would support us if we were three down with young players in the team- of course this is the way it should be.

I'm not convinced myself - last night there were quite a few on the pitch and the negativity is back with a bang.

It was an atrocious second half.

Another great pod. I agree with the point about promotion, I really don’t want us to go up and I know how stupid that sounds.

To me this season should be about building something & getting youngsters experience so we’re ready to have a proper crack next season.

Yes, we shouldn't go up. Nothing good could come of it. Probably better dropping down to league one for three or four years to stablise the club and get rid of the 'dead wood'.

Honestly....

I’d go a step further and say we should drop into League Two

Another great pod as usual.

I know that we’re run by clowns, so not fair to make a Sunderland comparison but they weren’t “PL ready” yet they’ve been great so far this season.

I can’t say that I agree with us not wanting to go up this year, it’s all about making sure that Rudkin and co. revise our wage bill.

Hmmmm on Sunderland, they had a few years making mistakes but building a young side that was the platform to eventually get up. They got in or close to the play-offs on a few others occasions. I don't think we are comparable at the minute anyway because our rebuild and blooding of youngsters is only just started/if at all and we are coming from higher decline. Theirs whilst was from the same decline, was over a long stretch that more resembled us post 2002.

I might be over simplifying it but how many of the players that started against Newcastle were bought in the summer?

They appear to have had a cracking transfer window and other than Xhaka, pretty confident none were signed due to their “PL experience”.

They have spent extraordinarily well, better than newly promoted club in many a year, however the basis for which they rebuilt was on academy players and cleverly scouted young players for very modest fees, even those that might depart will likely turn a decent profit.
