Team v Leeds

Same team as Sheff U, but my preference would be Sheehan in for Nisse.

I don't like the central midfield, but apparently Hughes didn't play too well last night, so best to bring him on later in the game.

With regards to the right wing, I'd like to see Hammill started there instead of Sylla. I've been impressed with him so far, worth a go definately.

He didnt look too good on the right wing last night  we looked alot better when momo came on :D

If only he was as good as your namesake davey, now there was a class act (from childhood memories). I would give Williams a last chance, a run in the side and if he fails to deliver then sell in Jan. It's just that there is a great player in there somewhere and if CL could only make him play a full game he'd transform our midfield. All in the mind!

The sad thing is he probably could be as good, he has the skills, the physique, the vision, and the movement but not the attitude - I wish I had half of that - such a waste.

Leeds seem to be having a midfield crisis in midfield.

Be wierd having a midfield crisis anywhere else ;)

So 5 midfielders out, Shaun Derry, WHO? Sean Gregan, recognised play maker. Jonathan Douglas, WHO? Gylfi Einarsson, who? Steve Stone, the old timer, not a thrilling 5, but it means theres NO way we`ll play 5 in midfield, and if we get stuck-in early, could well controll the game.

Theres no excuse from our midfield, and with the freshness of smithy hume and hammond, i think weve a good chance of winning.

If we pick the right team and our players (and manager) have the right attitude and approach then we probably won't have to worry what they do. But don't let's spend the first half trying to contain them and get caught with a sucker punch. Let's make them worry about containing us and, if we score, let's make em worry some more.

What I really want to see if CL play the same team he did against SUFC, with the exception of Douglas and Johansson...

Henderson

Maybury - McCarthy - Grrrrrbrand - Sheehan

Sylla - Joey - Kisnorbo - Smith

Hammond - Hume

my team would be:

keeper - douglas - whilst henderson is a good keeper and potentially better than rab, i dont think it is the right situation to throw him in in, especially if hes carrying an injury.

defence:- the two paddys have got to be the centre backs. Whilst Dublin sounded like he had a good game against bolton and so some might consider it unfair to drop him, he is not the future of lcfc and should only be used as back up.

I think maybury, despite a dodgy start (to say the least) to the season is improving and deserves to keep his place for the time being. Stearman is a great player and will be a regular in the future but I still feel maybury is slightly ahead of him at this time.

Left back - its tricky, but nils adds experience to a young team and sheenhan is still quite naive defensively. I know thracian will disagree with that! leeds will be a tough game; whilst sheehan deserves a place on the bench I would still start with nils.

midfield - joey and smith are there by default, to drop either of them would be madness! To partner joey I would give williams an ultimatum, either he puts the effort in or will be playing in the reserves for the rest of his contract. Give him a final chance and hope that he jumps at the opportunity. Hughes needs to play in the reserves to regain match fitness. Kisnorbo had a good game last week but it is time for williams to either sink or swim!

Right wing is also a bit of a problem area but I think sylla could be good, he just needs to find his feet and a bit of consitency. Hopefully he will get this and theres no sensible alternative without playing players such as hammil/ smith out of position which i dont think really works.

Upfront - Hume and Hammond - hopefully the start of one of the best recent strike parterships for leicester!!

subs - kisnorbo, henderson, de vries, hughes and tiatto.

sorry for the length of this post, think i might have gone on a bit! I havent really posted much before! :)

I don't disagree with Sheehan being on the bench today (I'd already put him there in my own team) but not for the same reasons.

Sheehan has never looked nieve in defence to me before - he tends to be considered in his defending - but wonder if any shortcomings Wednesday just may have been to do with the fact that the team were 2-0 down when he came on - there were only minutes left and Levein had told him to concentrate on trying to get balls into the box.

Any defensive work with so little time left would probably have been hurried and therefore risky.

From what I heard the lad contributed to almost saving the game with two passes that led to a goal and a shot by Dublin which produced a near-miracle save (though Radio Leicester might have been making this up cos as it's not been referred to generally).

I put Sheehan on the bench cos I'm as loathe to see Stearman out of the side as Sheehan and believe that all three (Maybury, Stearman and Sheehan) should be regularly involved. My only reservation on this is that Sheehan is our only natural left back (and probably the best passer/dead ball specialist of the three) and I'm iffy about playing either Maybury, Stearman (and certainly Nils) out of position.
