hejammy Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 In 2 days time.... Tweet by Fabrizio: "Rafa has decided not to pursue managing Leicester City as he doesn't agree with the plan for the Championship. He feels like we are a shit club, with a board who 'don't know what they're doing' and also he's pissed off that the clappers are back." 1

It is (by a country mile) the best post in this thread so far. The forum should have an honours system. Arise Sir Lord ACF. That’s Baron Sir Lord to you. Just glad to be of service 🫡 1
Stinkenzo Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 What exactly is boring Benitez football? Because possession football can be boring too. Hoofball? Something in between?
Glorious Leicester Fan Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 (edited) Whatever league we’re in next season, our team needs a major rebuild. The numbers of players coming and going will be significant. Team cohesion is therefore vital. The appointment of a manager who can organise a squad (particularly the defence) and instil a footballing system that the players understand is vital. I think Rafa can achieve this. fox_favourite Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Here’s a forward thinking idea. Rafa comes in, settles the ship ‘, Brucey bonus if he keeps us up and then get a number two to learn from him and can transition to a modern way of thinking.
l444ry Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Benitez certainly cuts a classy figure on the touchline. Just can't see him agreeing to come simply as an interim, which was yesterday's latest news.
fox_favourite Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Rafa is the safe, sensible option for any outcome to our season and for where we are now. 1
Cropwellfox Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Paddy power has Dean Smith odds shortening in last few mins progressively and Rafa drifting. No doubt meaningless

HUNTA84 Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 I think it's probably the most sensible decision and gives us the best chance of staying up. There aren't many managers that we could attract at the moment given our position, and it would be a huge gamble to pluck someone from abroad with no premier league experience. With Rafa, he has managed in the EPL, yes he's been relegated, but came back up and didnt shy the challenge. I think we just need to find a bit of stability going into the last 8 games and hopefully the players will respect what Rafa has achieved in the past over an unknown. His CV is by far the best of the managers linked so far.

themightyfin Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Looking like Smith. With option to extend if we stay up maybe? That'd the only deal I see here.

But silence is indirect support. It’s the old saying “if you are neutral in situations of injustice, then you have chosen the side of the oppressor” you may not agree with that, but I mostly do. fans that said nothing whilst watching the club burn had a small part to play in not stopping this circus from turning into the dumpster fire it is now. I don’t want to see booing, but if it meant getting Rodgers out whilst the board were asleep, it needed to happen. Yep. I guess it’s helpful at times like this for us all to keep in mind that probably the one thing that can unite everyone on this entire forum is that we all want the best for our club. Given the breadth of backgrounds and views it’s natural that there are going to be differences of opinion on what that looks like etc. Hopefully this sorry episode will conclude soon and we’ll be able to unite around getting behind the team again.
JimmyC74 Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Ornstein saying it’s Dean Smith & Shaky until the end of season. Ho hum - feels we are scraping the bottom of the barrel and not very imaginative but will give them a chance. 1
