It’s shocking. Especially in the last few games how many opposition fans, reporters are shocked by how bad we are. Genuine shock that Leicester are horrendous.

The problem is we’ve gone off and built that training ground and the majority of our squad shouldn’t see something like that in their career. It’s got them complacent.

Put on big contracts to thank them for their efforts when thing were going well....

That also means when u need to pull ur socks up when things are not going well...

Too many having their hands held ...

Even the training videos look half hearted,  all wrapped up in hoodie and snoods.

Put a shift in and warm up ffs

We started the week thinking this is the big chance to get some points to give us a chance. 3 very winnable matches. To finish on nil points with 3 shockingly bad performances is just disastrous. Just Wtf has happened to our club? I'm worried that we are the new Sunderland.

Sunderland were the whipping boys for years but somehow circled the plughole but never went down. That mantle has been taken by Everton, we however have gone from a club that won the FA Cup and spent more time in the top four than any other club for two years to a side that hasn't got the minerals to put everything into it when all is not well and fight for survival.

Rodgers checked out mentally a long time ago and that apathy has now been ingrained into the players, Marsch wouldn't be my first pick by a long way but at least it's a different voice and he's not weighed down by the apathy that's in the club.

If you don't beat this team you are asking questions. I reckon there is a big "Lads, it's Leicester" outlook going through the league. Coaches will know you don't have to play really well, or put maximum effort in, to win the game.

There's a video by a Bournemouth lad and he also says how bad we are

We've had a lack of effort from the very first game, it all goes back to the summer when Rodgers expected a squad rebuild.

The club has let so many contracts expire wanting top dollar for shite, instead of moving them on.

Something happened behind the scenes and everyone has downed tools since.

Rodgers should have been sacked then instead of waiting to the 11th hour and giving us no chance of survival.

Poor babies are lacking confidence so run less.

Pathetic

There'll be someone along to talk about fine margins and elite mindsets meaning that everyone should always be telling the players they're fantastic. Like they're Stephen Fry and they've fled to Brussels and everyone has to be nice to them.

The problem is they've been overindulged be and have begun to believe their own hype and it's been coupled with the fact that they've been allowed to become unfit for Premier League footballers.

A lot of things can be excused, including inability, but strolling about the pitch and not pitching in is insulting to the match going fan. These lot need it outlining how pathetic that performance was and not being told that they're okay really and it's all fine.

Couldn't give a shit if Maddison can contrive a bit of emotion in an interview where he has an invested interest in coming across as a decent chap who cares about football. Simply pathetic from the lot of them. They need to be held to account.

I detest this “lack of effort” comments thrown towards our players, because of course they want to be second bottom and appear crap!!

there is no lack of effort.

Fear to make runs owing to confidence and being boo ‘d absolutely. Fear to Press effectively, owing to fear of being played around again absolutely.

Less running owing to (in my opinion) lack of fitness, which could also be the reason we have so many injuries is another factor.

We are so broken as a team at the minute, that I don’t know how we arrest this slide in the time we have left.

We were this bad last season we just had Vardy and individual performances to bail us out.

Id argue the last time we were consistently good as a team was October 2019

I had a conversation with friends at Christmas time a couple of years ago when we were able to sit outside at pubs, got laughed at when I said I genuinely think things might be starting to unravel, but nobody took it seriously because we were still picking up results. It’s the Brendan way and always has been.

I think you make a good point, but lack of fitness IS lack of effort. They are professional footballers being paid an obscene amount and who want to challenge for prizes, if they aren’t fit enough how can that not be due to a lack of effort? If the fitness isn’t coming in training a few hours a day what’s the excuse for not getting fit outside of training?

But others (maybe yourself) make it sound like it’s the players. The blame IMO lies solely with the coaching staff, not the players.

I think it’s a mixture of both to be honest but with Coaches taking the majority of the blame.

The players are directed by those they trust, I.e the coaching staff including sports scientist etc

staying behind in training and practising free kicks is one thing, but to work on different energy systems is another, again it’s the coaching staff that direct.

Last week a Newcastle fan told me we will never go down, easily be safe.
They really don’t see how absolutely awful we are

No it doesn't. Our players are lazy compared to other teams, just watch them. Don't find space off the ball. pathetic jogging up field when the keeper has it and half hearted tracking back. No coach in the world tells them to do this. The coaching is poor, but so are the players attitude this season

All of that stuff is heavily monitored and analysed, so again it falls back on to a coach for picking players who aren't hitting certain levels.

You think In the most watched league in the world, where players wanting to impress other clubs or attract new contracts, whilst 30k pissed off fans that are unhappy watching them, that players would deliberately be lazy 😂

Have you ever played sport on an elite/high level?

I repeat again, in my opinion there is no “lack of effort”.. They are playing with fear and devoid of confidence hence why they are not making runs. If you cannot understand the link between the two, fair enough.

These players are not bad players overnight. You don’t play international football and be lauded by other clubs, if you are lazy.

Or they have a lack of desire, hence why they are not making the runs. Elite sports people should at least run into space etc..If you can not understand the link between lack of desire and being lazier than other teams, fair enough. Souttar apparently didn't play because he was tired, Cagler can't be arsed, Vesty wouldn't even move for first team football. Doesn't seem a squad of players busting a gut to survive, but hopefully i'm wrong and we see a lot more confidence and running in the next few games. Lack of running because of low confidence , seems a bit of a pathetic excuse for the players to me

You question laziness on the pitch, yet use x 2 players that don’t even play to justify your view. Regarding Souter, if we believe Adam Sadler post game interview then he was rested. Does that mean he is lazy because he was rested?

when players play with fear as most of ours are then bodies and minds can seize up.

Playing “safe” I.e not making the runs because they fear being outran, out played and out passed, backwards passes, not being direct all highlight to me a major loss in confidence and that fear factor. Add to that an angry restless crowd that makes clear its displeasure creates a perfect storm.

I am no disputing we are being outfought and out ran, but this highlights a team in confidence as Bournemouth are whereas we are not.

Relegation would be beneficial for most of our players. It would make their agents jobs a lot easier as we will be desperate to get them off the wage bill. Our tough negotiators shtick will be gone and there will be no more rejecting offers for Castagne, Praet, Soumare, Maddison, etc.
