I was in Madrid doing the tour of the Bernabeu stadium, followed by the Atletico quarter final - a tale of two penalties.

 

How times have changed.

Six years ago today I was in that square with my top off drinking cans of Desperado

 

7 years and 2 days ago we were at Sunderland away

 

8 years and 1 day ago we were at WBA away and that Vardy winner

We'd have 100% got that penalty with VAR

In six weeks time we will all be passed out on Viccy park after a hard night on the sherbets because Deano’s barmy army have just completed survival.

I spent 4 days out there. What a fall from grace it's been. Now I'm contemplating a 48 hour round trip to watch Excelsior as it's marginally less depressing than watching us sink.

So what happened, no doubt, some will say BR knocked all that out of them.

Mahrez. Deemed a dive. Griezeman's contact by Albrighton was outside the box too.

I genuinely can't remember us having a penalty shout. Obviously theirs was absurd and would have been rescinded immediately with VAR.

I'm so jealous, went the home group games but didn't go away in Europe. Such a missed opportunity thought we'd have many more chances at exotic away days.
