tom27111 Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Who's going and what line up are we likely to see? I'll be there, hadn't planned on going, but I'm about 10 minutes from Sixfields and my brother-in-law bought some tickets in the home end and now can't go. Plenty of parking on the retail park and a couple of Greene King pubs right across the road from the stadium. I know its only pre-season, but not sure if there's a dedicated away pub. I'll probably be in the Walter Tull for a few before kick-off.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Still tickets left in the home end (west stand) according to Northampton Town website so I am sure there will be a few City fans in there

James_lcfc Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Are we streaming the friendlies on YouTube again this season? 1
Leicesterpool Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Bit of a walk from the train station and town. Pubs around the ground limited i recall drink in the town pre match 😉

You'll just find a plethora of homeless people, empty retail units and potentially some youths stabbing people outside McDonald's. 4

But for anyone getting the train and wanting a couple of pubs on the fairly lengthy walk to the ground, the Thomas A Becket and The Sevens are alright. Both on the way. The Beckett is less then a 10 minute walk from the station and The Sevens is just past Franklins Gardens. Edited 11 July 2023 by tom27111

Real ale *winners* Olde England Lamplighter The Artizan St Giles Ale House Albion Brewery Bar The Malt Shovel Pomfret Arms *most of these are a fair hike from the station in the wrong direction - so cab it or get a mate to drive Town centre general gash Shipmans (not been since it reopened) Wig and Pen (typical town centre pub) The Fish (typical town centre pub) Cordwainers (a Spoons) The Bear (nah) Mailcoach (meh) Walking up from the station to Sixfields Thomas A Becket (just bearable) Foundryman's Arms (some real ale) The Sevens (absolute w"nk) Sixfields I'll hazard a guess Carr's Bar is off limits to City fans Other local bars are typically leisure estate awful 1
Daggers Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 There are others where you have to sell a limb for a drink
RoboFox Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Don’t go drinking anywhere near Sixfields. The places are dogshit. Thomas A Becket, Jimmy’s Sports Bar, The Sevens probably all half decent and can stop there on the way to the ground from the centre. Not sure about home fans, mind. Cromwell Cottage in Kislingbury is fairly nearby if you’re driving and fancy a village pub.
Daggers Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 I'll be there, but I've been roped in to volunteer to do some promotion work to Cobblers fans - still free ticket and free parking
