I went to school with his son, and went round their house once, on Knighton Grange Rd. He lived next door to David Gower!

If I remember correctly, he went to work for Weetabix (might still be) and think Tim Davies (used to work for LCFC too, think on the financial side) was there for a bit too.

My Father was good friends with both at the club, having been part of the consortium that helped saved the club back in 2002.

Perhaps the first senior figure in football I remember respecting. Oversaw two league cup finals and one win, a European campaign and the development of the King Power Stadium. Stood up to the Gang of Four and told Leeds to **** off when they came sniffing around O'Neill.

An outstanding servant to the football club. RIP

To be honest, I just supported Elsom because The Gang of Four didn't support Martin. Remember buying shares to be able to vote against them. Lost them all when we went into Administration. Doubt I was the only one on Foxestalk either.

Trivia: Gilbert Kinch's elderly mum lived next to my Great Uncle (he was my Gran's brother, and he was a bloody great uncle) in Syston at the time. Gave her a dirty look once.

Not proud of it

There’s something in how his name sounds, but you could see Gilbert Kinch being the name of a cartoon villain or a baddy in a film

Weetabix was the George's family business. It has changed hands a couple of times now.
