Blimey, that's Sunderland's third loss on the bounce? How??

Because they've only scored one goal, against probably the worst team we've played all season.

And defensively, they are poor - we saw tonight that their keeper is too good for this league - but they can't rely on him every week

I think we’ll win this league with possibly a record points tally.

But what I saw tonight tells me that it won’t be because we are a particularly good side.
It’s primarily because the standard of the opposition in the Championship is pretty awful.

Sunderland tonight carved us open many times but could not hit a barn door. Claims that they were the best side we’ve played are true to an extent that they came and had a go. But in the final third they were woeful.

The summer will be interesting. This season, we are SO much better than the opposition that they might as well crown us champions now.

But boy, will we have to invest in the summer or it’ll be another very tough season I imagine.

But, for now, get your money on City getting 100 points for the season. The opposition this season are rubbish by comparison.

It brings me back to my belief that the top flight and the second tier are worlds apart and the gap just gets ever bigger.

Yeah but let's just enjoy this for a minute!

I wouldn't be surprised if on the downlow, Enzo has set it as an extra target, man has the airs of a perfectionist

Yeah could be true, I really felt like despite at times we didn’t look our best we fought and just felt like it was a cup final. First half we had to dig deep same with last 15, I expect there is a point target being set here… the players just dig deep when needed. I felt we played it like our last opportunity and that is scary for the rest of the league that we are willing to just not be complacent.

it is that mentality that won us the PL

Following my pattern...

53 points has been enough to avoid relegation in all Championship seasons.  We have 36/53, 68% of the required points.

93 points has been enough to gain automatic promotion to the Premier League.  We have 36/93, 39% of the required points.

I keep harping on the fact that we have a nice points cushion so we can survive the inevitable bad patch (probably during the Christmas/New Years season).

I think  we would have won by more if we didn't have 2 keepers on the bench

I joined the stream late and the camera panned to Ward on the bench, I was very confused

Massive win tonight. The best side we have faced so far, and we were being dominated at times. Keith Stroud will not be welcomed back to Leicester with open arms anytime soon.

Taking nothing away from Sunderland, they were excellent tonight, and executed their gameplay superbly. Other teams will watch and take notes from this game.

But we had to show a different side of the Foxes tonight, and we came through it with three big points, which will be a psychological blow for those in the chasing pack. And to be honest, several golden chances were spurned by the likes of Iheanacho and Casadei, so we should have won by more.

Enzo will take pride in the win and how we got there, but he has now seen how we play with backs to the wall, and know well that we would be ripped apart in the Premier League.

We will not always have it our own way. But celebrate the win and learn some valuable lessons for the next game.

PS. Keith Stroud, get lost.

It's against old stagers like Mowbray where Enzo will really cut his teeth so like you say, he will feel particularly proud tonight.

No doubt we look good in this league. Tonight was a good test against a dogged team although I do feel we need to step it up at some point.

We have incredible talent on our books for this level and I do worry how much that masks our pure team ability to start the revolution and make a perceived success of it. I just hope we kick on soon so we take momentum into the prem otherwise we are set to be Burnley & back to mid 90s yo-yo town.

Alright smarty pants 😂.

If they had a striker, they'd be well up there.

But they don't. Which is why they're a slightly above average side, and nothing more.  Three of their 6 wins were against the bottom 3, they caught southampton when they were leaking goals, blackburn as they embarked on 4 straight loses and a watford team that had just lost two games.  They're built to punish poor teams, but lack the quality to break down a defence like ours.

We gave away a lot of sloppy possession that played into their hands and, along with a lot of buzz and energy, it made them look like a hungry, pacey team, but really they were lacking any players that knew what to do with the ball or without the technique to test our keeper..

Like, for example - "ask a silly question, get a silly answer"?

Thought they gave a good account of themselves but I thought we still deserved to win. We had the best chances and hit the post twice without looking in total control.

We have played far better than that this season and will do again. Thought we looked a little bit leggy for the first time this season in the last 15 minutes.

Oh and we should have had 2 clear penalties. Vesty was quite clearly pulled down and sat on. Poor sod gets a yellow card. Fatawu too.

2 chances in 2 minutes, he's struck the ball like somebody hoping to score rather than believing he will, both very good chances, keeper was good, but both shots have gave the keeper a chance much like Nachos effort.

First one it just sat a bit behind him, second one was a fabulous save (admittedly at just the right height).

We had 5-6 clear cut chances, I don't see how we didn't play well. The finishing was horrible at times though.

For us? We had 8 shots, just one was off target, and the keeper got himself a highlight reel for the four saves he made - i don't think we can criticise the finishing tonight.

Yeah their keeper was on top form, sometimes that happens and it makes the spirit of the team and for us to come through and win even better, because we were up against a side that really wanted it tonight
