Ornstein suggesting this started when Maresca informed the higher ups that he was talking to Man City about the potential vacancy there (as he had to per his Chelsea contract). Can kind of understand Chelsea's view in that case.

Lets be honest, its not his fault Chelsea owners have zero ambition.

This would be two jobs where he was very quick to ditch and go elsewhere though.

Does feel like he was always in line to return to Man City when the time was right though.

Sure. But you can't expect a club like Chelsea to be delighted to be used in that way.

Football to make your eyes bleed. No thank you

Yep. He's a big part of the reason I rarely go anymore. It was so so joyless. If thats the best way to be successful then count me out.

And I rate him for it. If you as the owner cannot back a manager that has made your club better than when he first came in, you're in the wrong, not the manager.

We may disagree on how well backed he's been. Huge investment in the squad before he arrived too, he's hardly short of very good footballers. If he requires that level of investment to do well then maybe he's not that good a manager?

Correct

But it ISN’T the best way to be successful. Football has already moved on from the darkest depths of possession football and is thankfully improving/changing again.

Maresca is genuinely the latest possession football fossil and given that he’s too stubborn to change, he’ll get found out sooner rather than later

Money doesn't equal level of backing. They've spent a lot of money on very average mid-table to europa league level players.

Maresca has done the best he can in the absolute shitshow that Chelsea is.

When we were good under him I thought we were really good to watch. All subjective I guess

There was that one standout game I seem to remember- we thrashed Southampton towards the back end of the season.

But it seemed to me that day that the players took matters into their own hands and played with instinct rather than under Maresca’s direction

In that case they were fairly supportive of bombing out players he didn't want weren't they? This seems an unrealistic expectation on what backing he was going to get to be honest.

I think that Maresca hasn’t done too bad… but if you look at the managers sacked by the owners it seems it doesn’t matter who is coach.
Tuchel, Lampard, Poch, Potter and now Enzo!!! Do BlueCo actually have a clue??

Sat here reminiscing about our time under him, feel like pure shit just want him back

It was great in hindsight. Had a great bond with a lot of the core match going fans especially away from home.
