Dropped off massively since Kirk. We know they are better than they are showing, we've seen it, but most of the players are a shadow of their former selves.  Not helped by the club, who let the Kirk saga drag on for so long without inevitably dismissing him.

That it dragged on was maybe out of their control, but they should certainly have been looking for someone to come in as a replacement knowing they were going to have to sack him at the end of it.

Instead of that they were happy to let the season fizzle out under the cloud that had been hanging over them.

I know little of the manager they have appointed this season, but she seems to have that caution is best philosophy, and it's stifling the players.  Her team selections are baffling too.

Yes Leitzig made a fantastic save that have us a point, and yes she probably almost single handedly kept us in the division for 2 seasons, but for me, kop is the better keeper.

Better with her feet, equally if not better at shot stopping, and better dealing with crosses.

Cayman should be starting, and arguably Rose should be starting ahead of Goodwin.

I know we are short of strikers, but playing with Ruby Mace as a striker made no sense, then bringing on Pelgander who can't run, to play up front made even less sense.

The transfer recruitment in the summer, of which I'm assuming the manager had a big say in, is also looking decidedly poor, and this looks like a very long season ahead for the ladies.

Getting Rantala back is essential, also O'Brien should help a bit when back, and if we can get Hannh Cain  back to hiw she was before her injury, will also improve us.

We need Petermann back, or Draper to be given a chance when she's back, because Mouchon looks about as good and as interested as Soumare in our men's side.

Early days, but there are certainly concerns, especially with the manager!

Draper is at the U17 world cup.  England don't play their first match until midnight Friday.

Its really bad timing for her she'd be getting a lot of senior minutes right now

Set up for a nil nil and got it.

Forward players injury list piling up, Cain and O’Brien not far away but no idea on Petermann.

Heard that Rantalas injury could mean a lengthy lay off, Missy Goodwin left Villa Park limping, and was also told Mouchon is injured despite being named on the bench.

Rose has pace but when she needs to burst into the box off the ball, she jogs. She offers very little else.

Not convinced by this manager at all, I’ve seen the first 5 games (inc conti cup) and she’s talking players through games, and at one point today with 88 gone there was 4 coaching in our technical area talking away to players. Just seems to be too many voices and too much in game coaching as if the players are failing to interpret or execute the plan.

A Good Point, Say Miquel
LCFC Women

Amandine Miquel wants to build defensive consistency after LCFC Women dug in deep to earn a point against Aston Villa.

Foxes Claim A Point With A Clean Sheet At Villa
- LCFC Women drew 0-0 with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon
- The Foxes earned their first clean sheet of the season at Villa Park
- Amandine Miquel shared her thoughts post-match

The Foxes put in a hard-fought performance on Sunday afternoon at Villa Park, as they held the hosts to a goalless draw with the spoils being shared in the Barclays Women's Super League.

In particular, the defensive shift was one to be proud of, and one that the French Manager looks to build consistency on, but she admits the forward areas were lacking in an attempt to steal all three points on their travels.

"It's a good point, we wanted to get more clean sheets and we got a first today," Miquel told the media. "It wasn't perfect, both in and out of possession, but we are happy to get a point here at a tough place.

The Foxes took a point from the Villans on Sunday.

"The two first games of the season, against Liverpool and Arsenal were very good, then against Crystal Palace it wasn't very good, so we knew we needed to be better. Now we need to be more consistent defensively.

"They understand their roles but it might take some time, but we are happy with the point today."

Having only scored once in the WSL this season, when Jutta Rantala found the net against Liverpool on the opening day, Miquel understands that this area of the pitch needs work, but was keen to state the learning process is still at the early stages.

It was the first thing we wanted to focus on when we arrived - conceding less goals.

She added: "There's not enough movement, and we don't always attack the ball once we get it out wide. We had some good crosses but no one on the end so we need to make sure we can make the difference defensively but on the transition also.

"It was the first thing we wanted to focus on when we arrived - conceding less goals. But we still want to score more, and today wasn't perfect but there's positives to take.

"I think we need to work offensively and work with connections in the attacking areas so we need to work on that and remain strong defensively."

Very concerning with the amount of injuries to our forward line. Definitely was the driving factor in only picking up a point. Rantala is a big big miss. New manger is still the right appointment IMO.

Early days I know, but I'd be interested to know what you've seen from the new manager to believe she's still the right appointment.  I'm just seeing someone who is ultra negative in her set up, and with a negative mindset.

We are far better than what we are showing under this manager,  and i feel that the players are being held back from playing their natural game, in order to conform with the managers negative structure and way of playing.

I hope she proves me wrong, but I'm not seeing anything so far, to suggest she will do.

She has stated a few times including her last pre-match that this team has old habits of playing it safe which she is trying to change. Kirk was progressive in his style but the interim was very defensive minded, just trying not to lose and you can see the team lost its way and we are still on a hangover from a winless run from last season. You could see the new managers style coming through in pre season including banging goals in against West Ham and the Arsenal game we held our own well and looked like we had a goal in us. Palace obviously was a bad performance but Villa, we were without any recognised strikers and Ratanla is a massive miss up top for us. I don't believe for a minute that she is showing us a lack of style or player management at this early stage so she has my support.

Why is there a world cup during the season, the womens off season was really long.

The palace game was like under Morgan, where the team were timid. and just had no ambition.  If I watch this game will it be any better than the Palace performance?

also why have we released her to go when we only had 1 striker fit? you don't have to let youth players go to call ups
