I think it didn’t help that a lot of the balls he was playing out of the back were to Soumare. He would either lose it or just send it back putting him back under pressure. He needs a leader next to him with a steady head. 
 

Hopefully Nelson can get a lot of game time with us. The right side with him, Ricardo and Fatawu should be exciting and solid.

If we opt to play a 3 at the back, I'd like to see Nelson involved and starting. Looks at least on a par with everyone else and will only get better, wouldn't be as keen with 2 at the back (yet) purely down to experience.

 

Depends what Cooper has in mind. If it's two, I'd prefer him to gain his experience elsewhere for a year while we try and keep our place in the league. It may do him better for his confidence keeping plenty of cleansheets in a team that could win a few games for a year, rather than shipping goals for fun and being battered week in week out.

Not a surprise. He's long been talked about and when he played last season, you could see he was more than ready for that level.

 

Would have loved him in our squad but makes much more sense for him to hopefully get 30-40 games
