Seems random, but hopefully gets some minutes. If he’s going abroad surely Leuven would’ve been a better bet?

Not good enough for Leuven?

Even 2nd division in the Netherlands is better than nowt, but it's not very impressive.

He needs to go there and catch fire big time. That would increase his reputation and value.

That division is wild though - 2nd divisions in Europe tend to be more goal heavy, more games, more touches, and probably will be good to get that for him. Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy even. Hopefully he comes back with more experience

When first saw him play he seemed better the McAteer imo. Maybe it's an issue of confidence that stop his progress.

I thought the same

I don't understand this at all to be honest.

How do De Graafschap become aware of his availability lol and if it's not them leading on this, how on earth did we get so far down the barrel that we ended up in the Dutch second division.... I mean he may as well of gone to League 2 here!

I would imagine his agent, or Robert Huth, or both, puts the word out that he's available for loan and it goes from there. I'd imagine it's quite a small world amongst European football contacts.

I vaguely remember this...but having watched that series on Wrexham I felt like there was some recruiting portal that teams use? That has a lot of normalized data for teams to search through. Maybe through that?

Perhaps they read the small ads in the Mercury: "PL team will consider reasonable loan offers for little-used forward. Also, 2nd hand rabbit hutch , 10 quid"
