I find it hilarious some fans haughtily complaining about a loanee from Brighton. Brighton have been the very model of how to compete as a smaller side in PL. We should be emulating them, not mocking them.

Not guilty of haughtily complaining about Buonanotte, but why? Where is Brighton's silverware to show for it?

If only there was another way of playing, or a different tactic to stop “wave after wave of attacks” versus Bournemouth at home??

Thank goodness we have Ayew falling over as our match winning tactic!

You are right! What am I thinking, this stuff is easy, we can just attack for the full 90 at full pelt!

problem is it still turns in to ping pong, still into a game where we lack control. we win the free kick and then what? lift it forward to a team with barely two players worth a jot in the air, ceding possession in exactly the same places we would if Facundo and Mavididi were given the ball to run with. in reality, all it lowers is our own momentum, ending chances of catching them on the transition

Maybe this is Cooper in a nutshell, he is more focused on stopping them, than making us more attacking?

People seem genuinely annoyed we've won lol just enjoy the feeling of winning a game. Who knows when it will happen again

Yep, the "hope we lose" plastics are so full of hatred for Cooper that they would rather we lose every week and the bloke is sacked than he succeeds in his remit of 17th or higher.

Truly pathetic individuals.

Won that despite Cooper not because of him. Second half was as bad as it gets.

I posted this yesterday morning -

"The fact is people's capacity for patience is at an all time low, and if we did finish 17th those same reactionary people would be insisting it was despite the manager and with another (fantasy) manager in charge we'd have been in Europe!"

Congratulations!  You're the first! 🤣

The sad thing with the “wish we lose so this fraud goes” brigade is that it would just repeat with the next guy.

Yep, and all pointless in every sense!

definitly not laughing at it being Brighton...what youve written is exactly right.

Brighton are miles ahead of us now, we need to recognise what we are as a club at the moment. We are not capable of playing the free flowing football we'd all love, we have  at best, a bottom half prem squad (IMO a worse squad than we had in the champ) who should be capable of just about keeping us up.

We could have Klopp, Pep, Arteta or any of the current popular managers of the day... we still have a bottom half squad

Cooper in a nutshell.

Actually got it spot on first half - the way we used Ayew stopped Lewis Cook taking control of the game. Two excellent passing moves saw a goal and a great chance.

Then that second half was criminal. It wasn’t just low block. We didn’t utilise the counter attack until Fatawu came on - Bournemouth at that point didn’t have a proper full back on the pitch for ten minutes before. I ain’t asking for flowing football. I’m asking to get your wingers high and use the ball well on the transition

Trying to retain possession for more than 3 passes was not too much to ask for in the second half. That would certainly have helped!

I don't think anyone's mocking them? It's not that long ago we were securing promotion to the top flight with a win that helped consign them to the third tier. Even more recently we cruised to the League One title while they were finishing in the bottom half. We've only ever been out of the top two tiers for one season, they've spent the vast majority of their history in the 3rd. It feels quite bleak that our best player is a Brighton loanee, at the same time you can acknowledge that they've done an incredible job at that football club and deserve all the success they're getting. It's not mocking, it's just a natural reaction to being overtaken by a club that we've had a financial and reputational advantage over for basically the history of both clubs.

Not disputing the second half was shocking, it was and that’s on Cooper, he has to make them braver/less risk adverse at times.

What success have Brighton actually had though other than winning the recruitment title? They are walking a tightrope that is very difficult, one which we took a different but more successful approach to before we well off. Maybe because it is under the current FFP rules but they are the first to make no effort at all to keep their players. We have seen clubs have a spell of strong recruitment before but it almost never lasts so it will be interesting to see how long they can keep restocking the shelves.

Biggest issue at Leicester currently is how shit our fan base is.. people complaining about Cooper, Ayew, Edouard…  we have a full stadium being out sung by a few Bournemouth fans… it’s embarrassing.

Do you think he can? Does it not reflect his own personality?  Perhaps the players would be braver if they had more belief in the system?

That was our first clean sheet.  But repeating that second half performance, despite being risk averse, will not lead to many more clean sheets!

I am really not sure, history is not promising in this regard, but I pin the slim hopes of evolution to confidence gained from a (much needed) 3 points.

I wouldn't read too much into it being temporarily "overtaken" by other clubs.  Football is cyclical.

Derby were great in the early/mid 70's, as were Forest in the late 70's/early 80's.  But both clubs have spent most of the last 20 years in the 2nd or 3rd divisions.

Cov were in the top flight for 34 years, but have spent the last 20 years in the 2nd/3rd and 4th divisions.

Clubs like Fulham, Bournemouth and Brentford have been really successful in the last 20 years.   Luton had a great spell in the top flight in the 80's.

You can go through practically every other "provincial" club, and you'll find spells of up's and down's.   It's just the way football (and life?) is.

....and safe to say all the new purchases are crap.

Is Okoli crap then?

And given you've then mentioned Edouard, so applying that to loan players, is Buonanotte crap as well?

Probably not safe to say really, was it?

Every single club is struggling with home fans at the moment, it’s not a Leicester problem. Forest is like a morgue despite the hype a couple of seasons back, Newcastle is dead, Villa the same (champions league aside).

Exactly all I seem to hear is moaning.
Think the success we’ve had in the past has gone to a few fans heads unfortunately.
