The only person happy with Okoli is Junior Lewis because it seems there’s now genuine competition for the dubious distinction of being our worst player ever.

If I were appointed manager (not very likely but with KP you never know) I would make all our "defenders" watch a video of the recent Arsenal-Man U game. Lisandro Martinez gave a masterclass of defending. His aggression, marking, positional sense and use of the ball were outstanding.

It's this. They both come out of this looking bad. Neither of them seems to communicate, organise or be very vocal. They both get pulled out of position too often. 

 

For all JV's and Faes faults, at least they try to communicate and organise. Hopefully Lascelles will be back soon, he seems vocal.

Also his pathetic clearance for the first.  This guy is costing us every week, not just the goals we concede but his terrible passing stinks out the start of our attacks.  It's obvious that he has the footballing IQ of a Mavadidi and the same passing range as my nan, yet Ricardo will auto back pass and put him under pressure his ability doesn't need.

They both need an experienced leader next to them; a Vestergaard, a Lascelles etc similar to how we saw the best from Soyuncu when he was next to Evans

This is just before the cross went in. I actually dont agree that this is Mavadidi's fault. There are 6 players defending and i think the winger has every right to be waiting for the counter.

 

I always like seeing our wingers being doubled up on. Here Riccy and Aribo give the their 2 wide players all the space they need. Neither can be arsed to make it remotely difficult to get the cross in (Aribo even turns his back!). Nelson, Okoli and Skipp decide the defend 2 players leaving Luke having to make a decision.  If there is one player you dont want to make a decision its Luke.

 

Then when the cross comes in, Luke reads it poorly, worrying about the players more than dealing with the ball. And Begovic, with all his experience, stays rooted to his line. A few steps forward and the keeper would make it much more difficult for Wilmot. Begovic it awful here - if you watch the replay its like he's about a minute late to everything. 

 

We may have well just scored an own goal.

because neither of them has a clue.Both been dreadful all season, probably the worst centre back partnership we have ever had
