We're seeing a level of delusion not witnessed since we last saw hfaes. The scapegoat nonsense is just that, he is now getting a level of scrutiny he has largely sidestepped until now given the sheer number of crap/unlikeable players we've had on the books over the last 2 or 3 seasons.

 

Okoli has been (another) absolutely appalling signing, and would have been at 1/10th of the price we actually paid. Even ignoring the inability to distribute the ball unless it's 3 yards to his full back/centre back partner having spent 5 minutes sorting his feet out, he gets caught wrong side frequently, gets rolled far too easily for someone of his size, and just exudes panic and freneticism in pretty much everything he does. He is the absolute antithesis of what you want from a centre half.

 

Just another in the long list of absolute dross we've suffered in recent seasons.

Unfortunately that’s what the manager is asking of him. This is the issue, he cannot play in this system.

Hes shown he can actually pass okay at times, yet he constantly gets caught on the ball, or gives the ball away too cheaply. And more a physical defender he gets caught out far too much. His best attribute is his determination but his quality is lacking. Hes a bomb scare and doubly so in a play out the back Russell Martin side. Faes is twice the player and probably defender too, his issue is he thinks hes better than he is.

Can't really excuse his mistakes today. Its not to mitigate his errors today but neither him or Soutar are typical build from the back Total Football acolytes.
