A good squad??? You sure about that? We had Matthew Upson, Konchesky, Dean Hammond, Bakayogo, Ben Hamer, Gary Taylor-fletcher...Ritchie De Laet...we did not have a good squad

Don’t you dare bad mouth GTF!

Couldn't feel any less like it. I could see Ipswich pulling similar off though. They've got that same camaraderie about them.

There is absolutely nothing about us that feels positive. That wasn't the case last time.

But there’s something a little off with them as well still. They are one foot forwards then 2 back or at least it seems that way. Everytime I think, damn they’re going to get going, they seem to then have a bad game.

If we hit form we stay up, because I don’t think any of the bottom clubs are capable of 3/4 good results right now. Especially if moyes doesn’t manage a new manager bounce .

We are no were near 14/15 team. Vardy is well passed his best. Most of the team are just championship players at best. We are down and going to get hammered by the championship going to take years to rebuild the club

I don't think we are that far off a result and with RVN feel slightly more optimistic of pulling something off. Showed against QPR we are head and shoulders above their play even when misfiring. We need the defence to manage 1 clean sheet and that should build enough confidence to start grinding out results. We miss Ndidi so badly. Soumare really isn't the kind of player you need in a relegation scrap. Neither is Skipp for that matter. It's perhaps the single position that could deliver the kind of change in fortune we need. A mopper-upper that helps cover up deficiencies of all around him. 35 year old Kante fits the bill...

This was the first time i heard Pearson's oft repeated "fine margins" and it was so accurate. We werent great, but it seeemed to me it was a single pass ending short, an unlucky bounce, the number of times in that season i remember feeling that we werent great but we werent terrible, just really unlucky.

That changed in January.. and everything that went against us.. suddenly bounced for us, i honeszxtly dont think we changed our intent, effort or intelligence.. the bounce just went our way... lol and continued to for another 18 months.

This season has NOT been like that, excluding Vards being  unlucky, we just havent been at the party, I dont finish these games with a feeling of... "we deserved something"

Still its all about the next game... a couple of wins, a little luck and some confidence.. who knows. :)

I'm hoping in not being revisionist but that team seemed to have a lot more resolve about them? Don't think anyone predicted the Great Escape but perhaps there was more belief?

There's more to the issues on the pitch this season than there were back then. The whole club seems in a rot now beyond on-field problems. Which gives me no faith at all that we'll come out of it barring relegation.

Revisionist or not, the fact is that side (plus Kante) won the league the following season. We should never have been struggling, this team however is hopeless with no potential.

There is definitely a lot of revisionism going on about 14/15. I remember people completely writing us off after a dismal 0-0 draw at home to Hull, which I think was just a couple of games before the West Ham home game that triggered the great escape.

Either way,  looking at our remaining fixtures this season it is hard to see where the points are coming from to save us, unless the points total required is unprecedentedly low.

We have 8 home games left, 4 of which are against Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and an improving Man U. Hard to see any points from those 4. The remaining 4 games are Fulham, Brentford, Ipswich and Southampton, all of which we have to win, given our tragic away form. Even in the unlikely event we manage that, then that would leave us on 26 points, meaning we are probably going to need a couple of away wins.

Our remaining away games are against Tottenham, Everton, West Ham, Chelsea, Man City, Brighton, Wolves, Forest and Bournemouth. Of those, the only realistic opportunities for wins are Everton and Wolves. Then we could look to get something from West Ham and maybe Brighton, who may be marooned in mid table by the time we play them.

So, all in all, we probably have 6-8 good opportunities for points until the end of the season. Based on historical points totals needed for survival, even 8 wins from those games might only just be enough. That said, Forest would have stayed up with only 28 points last season, so if a similarly low total is needed to survive this season, we might only need 4 wins and 2 draws.

We ain't getting 4 wins.

IMO in 2023 we were the best team in the EPL era to be relegated, whoever finishes 17th this season will be the worst who have ever stayed up, fingers crossed it's us.

Vardy finding his feet in the second half of the season helped us stay up in 14/15. maybe Vardy finding his feet again in the second half of the season will help us stay up again.

Even when we were losing in first half of season we were playing well and I can remember 6 or 7 games we deserved to win which we lost or drew .
This season I can’t think of any game we have deserved to win .

We are done,KP have gave us all the best

10 years ever as city fans.we are now reverting back to type.Back in our box.

Championship play off  chasers.occasional

runs in the Premier league.

These players have not got the fight or ability to build a survival effort. The previous team were on the up and being built. The majority of the current defenders are heading for their 2nd relegation in 3 years.

Is this down to KP or the people they trusted and empowerd?

Let's start again and reset with youth.

Thank you and goodbye to KP.

This

the core of the 14/15 team won the PL.   infact the first team squad that played the second half of that season was only Fuchs, Simpson and Kante short I think.

absolutely no comparison

If I had a million in the bank right now I’d put 500-750K on us going down.

Return of between 110-150K in just 5 months. Easy.

Not a cats chance in hell do we come back from this.

Damage was done with the appointment of Poops and his staff and the subsequent signings.

Add the above to the fact we sacked Pooper too late and faffed about with the coaching staff for Ruud.

Great escape season perhaps expectations were lower. Once Cambiasso got going I think the confidence came back. I think Albrighton who came on a free made a difference when he broke through. We also had 4 strikers with Vardy’s electric pace, Leonardo holding the ball up and great in the air. Chris Wood and David Nugent didn’t get a lot of time but it shows the depth. Defensively we had some weakness but Wes was outstanding.
Might be wrong but did we add Huth and Kramaric in the January. Some brilliant focused recruitment in that period not forgetting Mahrez
