Correct ... always been overpriced and under quality.... to be honest its a rip off like all other grounds and venues ... and I try not to think how the food especially has been stored and looked after

Agreed ours is not unique in being over-priced and lousy, but off the top of my head Spurs, Brighton and Brentford offer better quality, better value, and even the occasional smile from the staff who work there.

Just a couple of points, did the old announcer really get binned off for that interview? I thought it was just something people had decided on here. Secondly I’d not heard about the club contacting people criticising the club, disgraceful behaviour, would love to know the details if anyone would post them.

Good article though bringing together the smaller details circling around the main issues. Hate the search before you go in, it’s taking football back to the 80’s.

Yes I can assure you that this is true. Rudkin got the hump and took it out on Bradley for embarrassing him (as if he was even to know that Vardy would NameDrop Rudkin). Just one of the many examples of what a toxic culture has been allowed to develop at the club.

That’s awful. It’s just as bad that no one else seen what was happening and stopped it. Surely he has grounds for complaint.

Whats Brad doing now?

They can't legally conduct a physical search if they are not police. Unless so.rones told them your carrying drugs or weapons unless your suspicious.

Tell em. They are breaking the law n walk by.if they hold you stop you entering call the police

That new announcer just epitomises the club. He is incompetent, totally out of his depth. Honestly, at least get someone who can talk not like an American cheeseball

The guy is so irritating every time he talks,I love it when he tries to get the fans pumped, but literally everyone in the ground just ignores him!!🤣🤣

Terrorists change their methods.  Whilst there are terrorists attacking large gatherings, like the examples I quoted, we are all stuck with security checks.  We go through them in airports, getting into Museums in Big Cities and, yes, sporting events.

Glad to see that you are relaxed enough about the subject to adopt a mocking tone. No need, really.

No, that's not the truth, that is definitely your opinion.

If someone wants to bring in a machete, or a bag packed with explosives, or other stuff we haven't thought of, through a security check, they are going to have a tougher time achieving that than if there are no such checks.

I can't believe I'm having to explain this.

I disagree.  Any organisation inviting large numbers of the public to its premises has a duty to protect them.

As I pointed out with the examples I gave in my original post, a large gathering of people might present a tempting target for those who wish to do great harm.

LCFC, like other clubs, is bound to take measures to protect those attending.

Now, you might take correct issue with how security behave to fans once they are inside the ground, but that's not what I was talking about.

No security guard can legally search you unless someone's pointed you out that your carrying something illegal or your acting suspicious. If they want everyone physically searched they need to pay the police to do it.

You don't need to have someone point out a threat.

In addtion to visually monitoring every entrant and asking to see in bags, they can have "random" physical searches.

Obviously they need to have laid-down procedures for this and use a proper randomiser, to avoid being accused of adverse profiling patterns.

They then ask for permission to do a search, which is limited in what they are allowed to do (i.e. a pat- down over the clothes, not a full body search).

If the person refuses, the venue will form a view about the reasons for this and will almost always have reserved the right to decline admission.

its like @Ric Flair said in the podcast I'm done with the club and also I'm not I can never be! But my god they make it difficult to support Leicester! the security checks are a joke especially in L1! I've never seen anything that bad in that end in well over 15years to warrant the checks we have before coming into the ground. Also before going up to the concourse. even at away games you rarely get the standard of search you get at Leicester! The police in that end are a joke they have no clue what they are doing and just antagonise people in that section! Couple of stewards also in that end need to have a word with themselves too. But these are a few things since Top has took the reins that are mismanaged and wrong. £25 for a season ticket card! shirt prices and just prices in the club shop in general are a disgrace! we are suppose to be a family club. all disappeared under Tops rule, the £10 away coach travel has gone hasn't it. first time season ticket prices have gone up! Him and his out of date out touch touch management team are trying to eek out as much as the can out the fans, while the club its completely rotten in huge debt. peaceful protests need to happen to show this out of date useless board that without the fans the club is nothing! the Arsenal match I think a mass walk out on 15mins for the 15 years they have owned the club, only way you get people like this listening is with an empty ground and no money spend in the club shop!

The big concern for me is the matchday experience for new fans and families.

I mentioned this before on here and at the FT AGM because in the EFL you are judged on your long term strategy to attract new fans and families (they care about the growth of new fans). We failed miserably in our last report which for a club of this size and with the resources / potential available is an absolute disgrace.

You won’t change the matchday behaviours of many at all especially with the lame efforts our 7/8 person strong FE team make but you can shape it for the new fans. I doubt we have done very little as a club to communicate or identify those new fans that have managed to attend cup games etc, but that is like gold dust, if you care.

Its been said before and I sound like a broken record but we are too reliant on what happens on the pitch. Unless you can guarantee a 1-0 win every week you need a plan and a culture that values fans and those generations to come.

It’s so naive of Anthony Herlihy, Imogen Ward and Whelan to think we can copy Daniel Levy’s model of attracting “new fans” with money when our clubs, locations and demographics are totally different. “Maximising the matchday revenue ceiling” is ok if you’re in the capital and a tourist attraction but obviously, we aren’t attractive. The lack of Thai presence away from the board room at games should tell you that.

When we go down (and maybe down again)  and face sub 20,000 against Preston et al the damage done of our arrogant approach to fans over the last 10 years will be clear for all to see.

I’ve always said “it’s shit but it’s our shit” but I don’t even want it to be mine anymore…

For me, they need to switch one of the P blocks back to being part of the family stand and then make these seats general sale for every game, just for people taking kids (12 and under maybe?). It's the only way the next generation are going to get in to the stadium on a consistent basis.

Ideally we'd have general sale for every game after a certain time period of tickets being on sale but I can't see this happening any time soon unless we drop off massively in the next few years.

I think there are a lot of people who don't quite realise how much they've been brainwashed into thinking the current 'matchday experience' is ok.

For me, it's not about being in a PL relegation fight (despite all the issues), it's about loyal and future generations of fans turning their backs because they're being treated like mugs.

The board just seem extremely short sighted in every aspect. They love this 'family image' they've 'created', but the reality is completely opposite. There's no real connection between fans from what I see.

I don’t get to games now.

But who's doing the searching and on what grounds.

If it's showsec they can only do it if they have been told your carrying something illegal (weapon or drugs) or if your acting suspicious.

Ask them why they want to search you. If they say they've been told they've been told to search at random/everyone refuse and explain they are breaking the law. Only the police can search with no reason.

Other than police no man is allowed to search a woman's bag. Should only be done by a female.

Incorrect point 6 of the ground regulations makes it clear that you agree to any search and failure to comply is reason for rejection of entry and is a standard clause at all football grounds in the EPL. They do not require cause as long as they do not select you based on a discriminatory basis. They are not breaking the law they are complying with the ground regulations you agreed to when you purchased a ticket. There are many more important failings in the match-day experience that we should focus on.
