Did the U.K. ban Geert Wilders from entering in 2009?   I’m pretty sure he was a sitting Dutch mp at the time.
I think these two MP’s were invited to appeal to the courts to review the interior minister’s decision and given hotel accommodation whilst they waited. They chose to return next day rather than do that.
I don’t know if mr wilders had the right to appeal or if he too didn’t take up that option. I think we banned him before he came.

I would hope that the two UK MPs were not entering Israel (and were known to be doing so and originally had clearance to do so) simply to view a movie that is anathema to the values that Israel represents.

Not all political visitors to a country are equal, though I'll happily admit I should have made that point more explicitly in my original post. The DUP, for instance, said that some Labour candidates have campaigned too not allow Trump to enter the UK, and I'll also admit do find it difficult to entertain the idea of entertaining someone so ideologically opposed to the continuation of human civilisation and so keen to enforce that ideology through policy.

Depends what they’ve said ?  Surely it’s dangerous to ban someone from entering because you disagree with their politics as opposed to things they’ve said/done which are against the law in your country.   I’ll freely admit that I haven’t got any evidence ref wilders or these two women to answer that in detail.

For me, Wilders is the latter and the Labour MP's the former there, but I'd have to read more to be certain of it myself.

You’re correct and it’s ridiculous to make the comparison.

This trade war is doing no favours for anyone at the moment.

When The cabbage crashed the stock market and caused chaos, she was ridiculed by anyone with a thin bit of knowledge.

Trump is trying to create a country here that stands on its own two feet and basically said FU to the rest of the world.

If he isn’t careful, this could backfire massively.

The rest of the world could get together and stick two fingers up at the states by removing tariffs.  but self interest won’t allow that.  He just seems to thrive in causing chaos and watching the fall out - another narcissistic trait.

Kinda though the Trump dementia rumours were just speculative thinking but this is as bad as anything Biden did during the election campaign

The thing I can't grasp about the whole dementia discussion is the propensity of Trump supporters to say, 'No, Biden does' as if it's completely unthinkable that BOTH could be in serious cognitive decline.

Given Trump’s behaviour, word salad, poor physical health and diet, age and family history, I'd say he's at least as likely as Biden to be undergoing such issues. Probably more so. His behaviours align perfectly.

Which is why MAGA is essentially a cult movement. No logic required for their devotion of their ‘great leader’.

I don’t know how anyone listens to a word he says and thinks yeah let’s put him in charge. Nothing he says ever makes sense

Yep.

That being said, pardon me for thinking that the Fail's outrage on this one is at least somewhat faux.

whats going on here then? China supplying troops or Ukraine trying to capitalise on the Trump/China rift to get Trump to intervene?

Two captured individuals and a handful of encounters don't add up to a policy position. British volunteer nationals have been captured on the other side, too.

Not much of a story unless subsequent analysis reveals dedicated combined arms units given a direct order by the Chinese government imo.

I’ve definitely seen videos of Chinese volunteers on the Ukraine side too

It's almost as if China and America are having a tiff and someone is looking to exploit it for their own benefit.  Can't blame him for trying.

Yup, seems awfully coincidental although knowing Trump this will be the thing that gets his attention.

The Bhim Kohli story is an absolute disgrace.

What the hell caused these feral kids to lose their moral compass to such an extent that lead to this awful crime. As they are over the age of criminal responsibility and a man has died the names should be released. Wonder what sort of sentence the scum bags will receive

I genuinely don’t know how to process this anymore, what led these young people to get to this level of inhumanity. It’s too easy to point to social media or the rise in right wing extremism.
I hope his family get to find some sort of peace somewhere along the way.

The fact they've both got manslaughter, not murder, suggests they'll get under a decade behind bars.

The girl got CONDITIONAL BAIL before sentencing, I read. I don't want to get all internet "judicial system is a farce" but what the actual hell is that about??

Manslaughter for a minor will mean a pretty low sentence in youth detention,

could see the boy getting 2 or 3 years and the girl 12 months

With a bit of luck an asteroid will land on the White House soon with him and his rank pals in it . Knowing our luck he would still survive
