Two entertaining matches.

Last Scotland conversion was difficult but that first conversion should be been scored, looks straightforward enough

That was a horrible, horrible watch as an England fan.

That was a very fortunate win. Scotland will be kicking themselves. They should have been clear by HT.

Tim Simpson would shoot from there.

Saw him last week walking the dog. He likes being reminded of it.

How does Van Der merwe class as being Scottish, having been born and raised in SA?

All I've found is he got residency after living there for 3 years

I think you've just answered your own question there, mate lol

Yes. Residency - five consecutive years I thought, not three. Also you must have registration with a rugby national body or club, for the same period.

I fully concede that I am biased in terms of Joe Heyes, (I've known his Dad since I was five), but the lad has an innate ability to read play and reposition. Clearly the pivotal points today were Fin Smith's superb long range penalty kick and Russell's missed conversion, but Borthwick appreciates the fresh muscle and impact that Joe offers as a replacement and I think that has been a key part of these last two marginal victories. When you look at the the phase that resulted in Daly's try in the last few seconds versus France, Joe was massive in the rolling maul that initiated it. Understandably he's going to be playing second fiddle to Will Stuart for a while, but I what a talent to have in reserve. There are similarly a lot of promising upcoming club players being nurtured and developed at Pennyhill Park - it augers well.

One for pedants corner but I thought the ITV live coverage of the conversions was awful, especially the last one when they were too wrapped up in the try itself. Crap angles instead of the one behind the player. Replays were fine but kind of lost the sense of the moments which were huge.

lol they were still watching the replay when the match deciding kick was being taken, no sense of occasion at all.

Mind you, I'm pretty sure at one point the BBC missed an entire scrum just to have an awkwardly long close up of Gareth Anscombe's face

Thought that at the time, surely the editor messed up big time there.

Conversely BBC coverage was great Davies aside. Cotter on comms then Johno, AWJ and Warburton as pundits, it doesn’t get better than that

Next round of matches look interesting,

Ireland France will be an epic arm wrestle

Scotland Wales should be a high scoring close match,

England Italy will be really competitive.

Davies aside

I'm usually quite strong in my defence of Jiffy, I don't really think he's anywhere near as biased as England fans like to make out. Think a lot of English sports fans are so used to comms that are absurdly biased towards them, being British TV, that they have a habit of over reacting when somebody isn't.

Jiffy wears his heart on his sleeve, he doesn't hide who he wants to win but he's usually pretty balanced in his calls and is nearly always the first to put his hand up and say when things that go against Wales were just their own fault.

All of that said, even with that being my position, I thought he was on one yesterday lol he definitely was getting carried away with some of his views on the officiating which was, for the most part, pretty decent.
