Only we could smoke another team 12-3 across 3 games, dismantling them ruthlessly and still be all misty eyed over their manager.

We deserve immediate liquidation and no phoenix from the flames. End us.

Based on this and our purchase of half of the back four who shipped nine goals to us, I anticipate that our obsession with Southampton is so acute that Top will just replace Rudkin with Rupert Lowe.

To be fair it's hardly new.

The year after we beat them 9-0, they had the 2nd worst defence in the league so we hired the Head of Recruitment and half their back four in Bertrand and Vestegaard

Hear me out but if we were to go for a manager who plays counterattacking football, could we actually see Daka come good in the Championship?

His technical ability is obviously honking in a possession-based game, but I get the feeling that he'd be absolutely feared with Fatawu, Mavididi and Alves also running at Championship defences on the break.

Honestly no. Not to say he couldn't but the man is clearly mentally quite frail (hence the collapse in form after that miss v Leeds), and the fans here will not be willing to tolerate him at all, so all it will take is one miss, the continued booing and "you're ****ing shits" and he'll fall apart. He needs a fresh start elsewhere.

The idea of Martin being the next manager makes me want to give up on football.

I want to see us play with intensity... I want the old "Foxes never quit" attitude, I want to see passion from the players and the manager-

I just feel so disconnected from the club at the moment - and it's not like I haven't seen poor seasons or relegations before - but something is so wrong at the moment

Even under Rob Kelly we weren't this bad.

Yeah, I can see that. I would hope that a good man manager would give him some self-belief, but his time here has been utterly torrid.

A shame, as I do feel as though he could be dangerous in a counterattacking Championship side due to how rapid he is.

a good man manager and a restoration of a good sports psychology department and it's certainly possible, you're right about his attributes for sure, I'm just not convinced this fanbase will let him have a chance to do it.

Honestly, it comes into the need for Vardy to retire (no other striker has succeeded here in a decade because they're stuck in his shadow). Once that happens and a striker isn't just blocking him from playing in the eyes of some in our fanbase, then we should see some success with other strikers.

Rob Kelly would be a much better manager than Ruud, only manager I even put in Ruud category is Dave Bassett

Last season in the Championship.

10+ pass sequences…

2) Leicester City - 875

1) Southampton - 1042

Martin ball would have our fans reaching for the bleach.

Nail on head.

I fear that Vardy could end up becoming for us what Ronaldo has become for Portugal, albeit obviously on a lower scale. Huge name, won everything, absolutely peerless in his context and worshipped by the fans, but holding the team itself back as he's all but undroppable for all of the aforementioned reasons - despite being a shadow of what he was.

I'd hate for that to happen to Vardy, but I think any more time would make it inevitable.

Martin would be a lazy appointment, to the Leicester board he's probably cheap and available. That's it, not if he's right the man or can he stabilize the club.. just like "he'll do".

I'm not sure. I think Vardy is just in a very poor side and would probably still struggle to be effective if he were five years younger.

Ronaldo actively held Portugal back in 2022 and 2024 as there was clearly an expectation that everything had to go through him. He was getting the service from quality teammates but is past being able to do anything with it. Vardy is a near 40 year old who isn't getting anything from poor quality teammates and struggles to do much even when he does now.

Anybody justifying us getting Russel Martin need their head testing. The standards at this club are a disgrace and it's little wonder why

I can't believe I'm reading people saying they'd actually take him, or he's improved, or he says the right things. He's dreadful and Saints were lucky they went up. Ask any Saints fan what they had to watch all the time he was there, loads of them wanted him gone for ages.

Look at our game vs. them ffs, was so obvious Fatawu needed doubling up on, but he didn't do it.

Yep, it's time for Vardy to go now.

There's so much hysteria around this club at the moment......it's enough to question  your love of the game. I mean has any other coach and I use the word loosely, lost so many games without scoring, wanting us to believe that he has ' discovered' a new system ie putting 11 behind the ball(wow I've never heard of that before!)

Then mention Martin as if he's the Messiah? Wake me up from this nightmare - excuse the sarcasm. Drinkkkkkk

For Daka to be useful, his first touch would need to be his shot on goal.  Did you see him at Man City? Skins the defender then trips over under no challenge.

Not to mention the fact that even Enzo knew to play counterattacking football against them, and we destroyed them twice.
