Pretty sure it was a year ago today for that, what was for me, an extraordinary moment of horor at St James Park when Ward was in the tunnel to come out for the second half..

 

The look on his face was every bit that of a condemned man prior to a public hanging (and in many ways, metaphorically, it was indeed just that)

We found an awful connection to watch it on live. I felt we were still in the game first half. Then our connection broke and i tried many different ones to fix it. I then got a pixelated still image that 'looked a bit like Danny Ward' on the touch line.

 

My son simply said 'No, it can't be', as we both squinted to try and make sense of what was in front of us.
