Tranmere fans are absolutely raving about him. His assist was everything you want in a fullback going forward.

Just have to hope he is given the chance next season

Him and Aluko could solve a really big problem position for us in house, I’d be happy to let then fight it out at right back

Wilson-Brown pre injury was playing most weeks for promotion chasing Swindon & then obviously Braybrooke who we know about.

I’d say the guys who have been on loan in League 2 should all be in the squad next season.

If they’re not sold

could easily be in a situation where we have to sell half a dozen young players to finance the salaries of BDCR, hamza, Thomas, skipp etc. those players that we can’t sell because no one will take on their wages.

Think unless we get very good offers it wouldn’t make financial sense to sell some of them, I’m sure some of the dents we will make will allow us to keep guys who have had a L2 season

Might be the case for Monga, Page, and Nelson but not too sure we would really get the kind of offers that would make them worth selling yet for Braybrooke, Joseph, Wilson-Brown etc.

I think the only academy player that will have genuine interest is Monga and funnily enough I’m not that bothered to see him go

Will be gone in a few weeks I'd have thought. There's not a chance he plays for us in L1.

He’s a kid so won’t be too harsh on him but I’ve been a bit disappointed by him. Not his performances as such but more how he’s looked on the pitch. Looked a bit half arsed at times.

Page & Aluko always looked more up for the fight

Our hand may be forced to play a team majority made up of academy players

Jakub

Aluko

Nelson

Gray

Joseph

Braybrooke

Cartwright

Page

Evans

Hutchinson

Monga/Alves

Obviously some will go but that's a team I could get behind

Need some league one journeymen in there

Would beat our current 1st team if it didn’t have Jordan James in it.

I would have thought that Wilson-Brown is ahead of Gray since he has League 2 experience. Although they are all accademy graduates, the majority do have league football experience. You could also include Opoku who has played in League 2,  although he hasn't been overwhelming there.

Hopefully not, would much rather some up and coming league 2 players i.e. braybrooke, Joseph, Wilson brown than sign yet more "experience".

Yeah agree wasn’t a completely serious comment.

With the names you’ve mentioned that’s 3 guys who’ve got a seasons worth of experience plus getting good reviews.

Evans hasn’t played a lot but has still been exposed to what League One is like & scored which is huge for him. Alves has gone missing but again he has played in the Championship & League 1.

Page & Aluko have tasted Championship football too so know what to expect.

I do think all these guys are more ready than some will realise.

Be interesting to see what happens with Otchere & Hutchinson who have had great seasons especially as we’ll have zero strikers at the club

I disagree.

I know people think that we shouldn't sign experience because of how awful the likes of Coady, Ayew, BDCR etc were but a side with a majority of players fresh out of youth football will absolutely need some experience around them.

I'm not talking experience for experience's sake but quality players who have been there and done it with the motivation to keep doing it.

We absolutely do need to sign some players who are going to come here and lay down the law and point out shit behaviour.

We'll need a mix of youth and experience.

Last time in League one we had, Hobbs Morrison, Gradel, Adams, Gilbert, King that were young up and coming players. Then Howard, Oakley, Berner, Tunchev, Fryatt (who wasn't quite as senior), Dickov, Hayles.

Good thing is hopefully these lads that have done well elsewhere can home in and be part of the League 1 squad. Along with Aluko, Page and others (Monga will be gone).

We just need some decent senior professionals to help out.

Lascelles might be one thats worth keeping on the right wage.

I think we’ll need an experienced core. Need a leader at the back for one.

A proper experienced head in midfield too.

I absolutely do not trust the club to make some smart signings like that though. It’ll be Choudhury still

The problem is these players were clearly on their way down when we signed them. If we were bringing in players at their peak with a couple more years at that level then I think it would be fine. We should be looking at decent, out of contract Championship players and offering them a reasonable League 1 wage, but with significant promotion bonuses.

Our academy produces leaders, our recruitment team signs pansies.

Who came to apologise to fans the other day? Lascelles, Choudhury and Page, 2 out of 3 academy players. Look at the way Braybrooke has turned his career around after a nightmare loan and injury. Evans went to a relegation battling league one side at 17. Jayden Joseph, Wilson Brown both establishing themselves in league 2 at a young ages.

These are players with the required mentality, not some 30 year old league one journeyman whose going to "lay down the law".

The thing is we looked decent in pre season, lots of energy and players trying to prove themselves. Those standards were set by the young lads like Joseph,  Wilson Brown, Aluko, Page looking to prove themselves and it got ruined by the senior lads coming in and taking back their place without having to fight for it.

Experienced players reduce footballing standards because they retain their position in the team through dressing room hierarchy rather than footballing ability and desire. The way we fix the mentality at this club is through playing a young group of players who are competitive and hungry to prove themselves and by bringing in a manager who backs them and doesn't default to relying on experience.

Shouldnt really reply, but agree 100%

Boggles my mind that an experienced player will get chance after chance regardless how sh1te they are. If we started Evans one game, and he drifted around the pitch and fell over as much as Ayew, and missed penalties, then he wouldnt get another chance. However, for a while, Ayew was starting each week and has never left the squad. We win nothing when Winks is on the pitch, yet becomes undroppable.

And i agree, the energy in our lot disappeared the day it was clear that their spots were never under threat. It was Louis Page who scored again Peterborough preseason and the energy was different when you could see Aluko etc knocking on the door.

And if rumours are correct, its the journeymen like Ayew and Mavadidi who act like complete d1ks to the academy players. They arent example setters.

Could see Lascelles sticking on a cheap deal tbf, unless Derby/Stoke are interested, he wants to be in the area as he is from Notts
