I believe in Marti. After a month and two proper games with a stale squad, it's apparent this is not going to be like last time. I'm happy with a reset, improvement, solidity and survival this year. The next two seasons (at least) will not be pretty...

I think we all need to lower expectations

It’s an awful prospect. Needing to watch other teams to get a fix of “good football” and watching dirge from the club you’ve supported your whole life. Weird disconnect.

I'm not going to defend every decision Cifuentes as making, because I don't agree with everything myself, but I do think you've been extremely critical of him from the first game (which we won), argued he should be playing the academy players (which we then did in the cup game and it turns out they didn't look as good as we hope they are, losing (albeit on penalties) to a team in the league below us). Now I'll admit he made changes, but some of those were to add even more youth, like Paige, and I'd argue the youngsters played worse than we did in the first game, and so if he'd done as you wanted we probably would have lost to Wednesday too.

There's a lot wrong with the club right now. And it's okay to feel angry.

There's players like Soumare who I hope have exhausted all their chances for now (although I'm struggling to see a good central midfield we can put out (although Soumare and Skipp still shouldn't be in that).

Our defence isn't great, but it's the creativity from the centre of the park, the urgency, the engine that's lacking the most (plus a natural striker).

The lack of striker is therefore another major problem and not one easily fixed. Evan is an unknown no matter how much we might hope and that leaves us with Ayew and Daka.

Our incomings have literally been a 38 year old backup keeper and an 18 year old, who might be a start of the future(assuming he stays here long enough) but won't help us now.

The guy came in a few weeks before the start of the season. Players won't unlearn a season of Cooper and Ruud football and relearn the new way and be fluid and confident enough with it to win a game of fine margins in such a short space of time.

And while we've seen how bad these players are all last season (and before that for a lot of them) Cifuentes has to give everyone a clean slate, because some players naturally excel in different systems.

Yes we need to start winning again, right away, to stand a chance of promotion, particularly with points being docked hanging over us, but we can't write the guy off before he's properly had a chance to show what he can do.

I remember (even if most on here have forgotten, the abuse Pearson got for months and months, particularly when we couldn't buy a win in our journey back to promotion before we went up, and everyone was questioning him, or even when we went up and he refused to play Albrighton for ages for reasons no one could work out.

There's a certain Scotish manager who was being booed by fans because Man Utd were awful when he first took over. And look how that panned out.

Now I'm not saying it'll work, he may not be the right man for the job. But let's support him until proven otherwise and give him a proper chance. There's a lot worse at the club that has had too many chances and should be gone long before Cifuentes goes.

As my comment above, we started 3 unestablished academy players in the league cup with Page coming off the bench to replace Alves and only 2 unestablished academy players being on the pitch when we conceded.

It's entirely unfair that the blame for the loss is being placed at their feet when they made up a minority of the side. How about the rest of the team who also let us down? Mcateer was really poor that game, far worse than Alves and yet he is still favoured by Cifuentes.

In respect to your statement saying we would have lost against Wednesday if we integrated more youth i strongly disagree. From what i saw we won because Wednesday fell apart and were horrible in the second half, I genuinely think that Huddersfield is tougher opposition currently. You seem to be assuming that Wednesday was the tougher game because their in a higher league but they are a complete mess, we would have been more comfortable against Wednesday with more youth involvement, not less.

Agreed. But doesn't that happen in football often, and definitely with LCFC?

I think it’s dawning on Marti the size of the job but if he cuts away the diseased players and brings through a young high energy team the majority of fans will back him as it’s clear that’s what we’ve needed for some time.

Not THIS bad. The last couple of seasons have been pretty awful.

...and before that? We're a classic yo-yo club. But we love you Leicester, we do...

I’ve only known since the 90s. Had a lot of ups and downs as we know, but I know I’m not alone in thinking that this is unlike the times before. Bad times in the past I’ve at least appreciated the effort or felt some warmth towards the squad. Slim pickings right now. Slim indeed.

I'm not saying he is or isn't the right man but when will people start looking past the manager and really see what the real problems are at this club. There isn't an 11 any manager could field from our roster that would do anything positive in this league. There's about 3 players playing for us who don't look like they're being forced to play for us by gun point and I can only imagine the poison the rest of them are dripping around the place.

Sounds like Groundhog Day at our club

Whose fault is it this week ?

Nothings changed just ask

Rodgers, Cooper & Ruud and I knew Marti was going to be next, the club is rot and decay and until Dumb & Dumber go it’ll continue to rot.

So if you want more of the same keep buying your tickets and put more money into Tops pocket by paying to watch !!!

I know that people are saying

- why is he playing Soumare?

- why is he playing vestergaard?

etc…And I get that, but maybe he just needs to see for himself, and maybe he is now.

one thing is clear we need to get 2 or three new faces in the door and get some out to give him half a chance of succeeding.

Itll be interesting to see how he manages it. Has he got the minerals to shake it up and create a unit if players all pulling together and positive about being here?

So people think replacing Soumare and Skipp and we are golden?

Maybe playing Bilal in midfield with Wink and introducing Page, like he is doing with Monga could achieve the same?

If new signings are needed to reset the mindset then we really are in a dark place.

He should be demanding new signings.

I look forward to it coming out in September that he was lied to

Or at least they were very sneaky with how they told him about the whole need to sell to buy thing
