Somethings got to have gone on behind the scenes? You don’t give an academy

graduate who’s just come off a loan the number 4 squad number if you aren’t looking to use him. 
 

yes I know squad numbers aren’t the ultimate clue.

This is clearly more than on field capability. His contract is up in 2027 and if people are so sure his future is here, why hasn’t a new one been signed? People have said it’ll be an agreement that Ben will be happy with to wait his turn. Why the hell would that be the case when he is watching what is happening with those selected ahead of him?

 

This is absolutely ripe for a PL side, a Palace or Sunderland type, to grab themselves a bargain in January, loan him to a Championship side for the second half of the season to get him minutes and more experience with him integrated with them for next season. Quite possible that he is actually playing 2 divisions higher than us by August. How mad is that?

Is there anyone with actual information as to what is going on here.

 

Pre season, he featured in a lot of the social material the club output, so it felt like he was part of the overall plans. Featured in preseason, but not even talked about in interviews or anything. See him in the odd training clip.

 

Was he at the game yesterday. I cant see from where i sit.

Not sure I buy a contract dispute theory, it’s a bit early for there to be a stand off around a contract considering he had two years left on a deal last summer when it started. 
 

I just think he has 3 senior well paid CBs ahead of him in the pecking order and they don’t have the balls to a) drop them and b) take a chance on Nelson. Which is ridiculous at this point.

Only other thing I can think is John Morris has told Rudkin there’s a big offer on it’s way and to keep him wrapped up to secure the deal!

The team (wrongly) is built around Vestergaard who dictates our attacks and overall style. Marti has made Vestergaards undroppable whilst we play like this. Saddens me out fans seem to not see through this and think hes our best defender.

 

This means its either Okoli or Faes who take the 2nd spot. So he is 4th choice whilst Vesty is is undroppable.

Freeze out Vestergaard - he is the problem. Start Okoli and Nelson and use Faes as a rotation option in specific roles. He looked better than both Thomas and VK at left back, and can see out a match if needed. Bring in Aluko and Page for sure. Dont think Evans is ready.

 

STOP playing out the back and work on different drills to start attacks.

 

I genuinely think if we didnt start a match with Vestergaard the opposition would be caught off guard. They know exactly how to play us with him in the team.

Definitely doesn’t fancy him but then you’ve got the Oxford gaffer saying he basically kept them up last season and should be playing prem football, Enzo also said this.

I wanted it to be Okoli and Nelson from the start of the season and voiced that on here numerous times.

 

I can’t see any manager ditch both Faes and Vesty though.

Im telling you now, Vestegaard is the problem. The fact that he appears on posters team selections when discussing 'changing things' boils my piss. Jannik can only play one way and slows everything down and EVERYTHING has to come through him. At least Faes can do a rotation job for us in different positions. Could you image asking Vesty to spend 20 mins of a game at left back?

 

Start Okoli and Nelson and stop playing out from the CB. Let them grow and nurture, and use Faes and Aluko as rotation across the whole back line.

 

Dump Vestergaard.

The slow pass from JV to Soumare is such a waste, he never turns but blasts it back without even looking.  The clowns then love to recycle for the sake of it until the press forces Jakob to kick it to the opposition. 

 

A quick pass to Winks who can find JJ to drive up the pitch. Our wingers need to stop trying to show boat and being greedy. They need to remember how to receive the ball in space ahead and run at players. 


There was a passage of play when Daka came on.  He dropped deep to receive the pass in space, had no one pressuring him and he insta smashes it square to the wing and attack over. Brain dead player.

Shit show = nervy first half

 

As opposed to Okoli, Faes and Vestergaard, putting in shit show performances for 3 months

This BS again. What about the weekly shit shows from the others? Why is it that it’s only Nelson that gets one chance and out?

We won't pick more than one centre back on the bench and he is fourth choice at the moment. Manager preference.
