Is the rail seating making a difference? Not read much feedback.

As someone who sits in H it's been much louder in the first two games and that's clearly through G and the rail seating making the section feel bigger and more involved.

The I Don't Care About Rudkin spread into our block too :D

First time I've never heard KRO from my seat when we've played them.

They've always had good away support from my experience, so no idea what happened tonight.

It was like it the other year in the cup when they had even more but they didn't make a peep

Yeah that wasn't particularly noisy for the following, but it was still good in parts. I genuinely didn't hear them once tonight.

Birmingham's away support last night is only what we would produce if trailing away from home for the vast majority. They were decent before kick-off in fairness, but it didn't seem to carry through. The measure of atmosphere is always subjective though and dependent on the area of the stadium. Like with the noise created within the SK1/G1 corner last night, it's a shame that it didn't seem to get picked up on TV coverage, or travel well to the opposite side to get L1 and P blocks joining in.

Given Demarai Gray's contribution as a player while at the club, notably playing a part in the 2016 title win and scoring that goal at Cardiff, I thought the overall reception was unwarranted. There doesn't seem to be very much loyalty shown to former players at all. Sometimes it's a better look to give a neutral reaction if it's not a positive one. Each to their own though.

He played 177 minutes and a good percentage of that was playing in the last day rubber with Chelsea

If any justification was needed for the stick, it was when at the final whistle he went up to Monga with his hand over his mouth and chatted to him for a good minute or so. Can only manage what daft waffle was coming out

I think if a certain KDH was to return that would change..

Apart from the select few who thinks its

absolutely disgusting to show

respect to former players.. AKA Harvey Barnes last season.. lol

We are in P block around 8 rows from the back and you literally cannot get closer to the away support as it's our seats, stairs and them.

Many times we get outsung, out bantered and put in our place. As much as we give, we get more back.

But last night was different! They were loud until we scored and they seriously went into their shell and for one of the few times the 50-80 of us that care to give it to them beat them in every way possible.

2 scuzzy women trying to give it large got it back in tonnes and no matter how much they tried were never gonna get the better of us.

The banter their lot tried, be it fun or aggressive,  were just taken down and the some.

Of course plod and their wokeness and low to zero threshold for what is deemed as "offending others' feelings" was there to be seen and they cause more issues than they solve but in general a great night on and off the pitch with bragging rights to our lot in all areas.

I'm sure, although we always do and as mentioned above, the standing rails are helping with the atmosphere, even in our part we were loud and on form for a large amount of the game.

Home....best its been for ages.  Almost full 90 of songs in sk1 and g1, loud goal celebrations and "limbs" as my daughter says, everyone around me getting involved and contributing and WYS sounded best for a while.   Keep it up lads and girls.  Really enjoyed it last night.

Away.....for all their KRO, zulu rep (that i was told about repeatedly at work) and their unbeaten start they were awful.  Nothing from them that I heard. Sheffield weds were 100 times better.

Granted, he didn't play a big role in the title win as he signed in the January window of 2016, but personally feel it's a bit daft for any member of the squad from that season to receive a negative reception. At the same time, that's not to say Gray couldn't have conducted himself better during his time at the club and the same goes for Mahrez.

Kiernan and Harvey both got a very good reception last season, if anything it probably went too much that way.

Do we really have to have two atmosphere topics? Not sure why this one was started.. close one down as we’re discussing the same thing between both

The other one has been going for nearly three years, and I felt a change was needed which also tied in with changes to home matches this season (as stated within the original post on this thread). The title is more suitable too in my opinion.

Let's all play our part on Saturday in helping Marti and the players get over the line. The dreadful clappers now only being available in the Fan Zone and within one stand (which includes the two Family Areas in P2 and P3) has been a welcome change this season, and should make for a more authentic derby atmosphere.
