I sit in SK2 and too often, the singing is drowned out by the incessant and far too loud drumming. I feel sorry for anyone sitting near the drum. Before I’m accused of being a killjoy, I always join in with the singing but find the drum far too loud

Will Lee Jobber ever do it again?

Very unlikely, think he has a few physical issues bless him. Glad he’s on the mend now though. The current drummer doesn’t stop drumming, literally does it to Leicester Leicester Leicester …

Noise wise it’s better than anything we’ve done this season or last

Like comparing different circumstances though isn't it

weve had **** all to cheer about for 2 seasons at least where as this is their best season in years

Meh I know what you mean, but our standards are incredibly low.

Don't disagree with you there bud

were in a dip and it's plain to see until we turn a corner it's going to be poor

perhaps some of our fans need a lean spell to realise how good the better times are again (if you know what I mean)

daft old cvnts like me know what it's like I've been going since 1979/80 season 😆

Yeah that’s true. I know on and off field it’s bad but I just wish the fanbase would be a bit more up for it when we play. Feels like people just cba, I was L1 for Stoke and couldn’t believe how poor it was all game.

I don't think Marti's bland style of football helps (or the fact we've only won 6 of 16 games so far)

the football just isn't exciting - however I still shout my throat horse every game I go to - some people around where I was sat in SK2 were like mutes (and I get each to their own and all that) but I found that embarrassing and I'm talking lads in their 20/30s

I think it’s just the fanbase. You can make the argument about the style of football and I’d agree to an extent but I remember when we were going for the top 4 under Brendan before Covid hit and it was pretty poor then as well (albeit it not as bad as it is now)

I guess some fanbases are louder and more passionate than others and we just aren’t. There’s no right or wrong I guess, I just think it’s a shame.

Yeah I get you, however I would say I've heard our fanbase be as loud as any other at times in the past (not consistently sadly)

last few seasons not so much

Thought Stoke were pretty crap considering they had the full end and their form tbh

Away support has never been worse vocally. Numbers are better than ever but the actual noise is dire.

Lots of clubs who are rated for away support are underwhelming nowadays.

I've always thought that the problem with the drum is that it sets the mood for the whole support. Drum stops = singing stops. So the atmosphere came down to the enthusiasm of one person.

The drum broke in SK1 against Middlesbrough and the atmosphere suffered after. Chants just don't take off in the same way

I looked across the Kop and noticed exactly this.

Thousands just gormlessly staring at the pitch yet somehow so disengaged at the same time.

I think there's way less chance of chants starting anywhere outside the section now too. There's a reliance on them to do it so I think other areas are less inclined to start them up. I'm sure that used to be different

Exactly how I see it. Lots of teams fill our place but you hear nothing. Stoke didn't make a sound first half and they sold out. No different to when we criticise our own away support.
