All gone very quiet on king powers own financial troubles. If it doesn’t improve, then a sell becomes more likely than not you’d imagine.

Can’t wait !

How does top make his money?

The family is currently estimated to be valued at $3.6 BN they have wide ranging investment and property interests as well as King Power. At that level of money they would make about $80 million just on deposit.

Somethings not right, whether its mild neglect or struggling financially who knows?

Thanks for that informed and incisive comment. It's clarified so much for me. Sorry I didn't read it sooner.

But surely if Kingpower make no money then Top makes no money. So if Top has no money, surely it affects the stability of Leicester City? You can’t invest/spend what you don’t have and the clubs previously successful model of buy low sell high players to reinvest has completely gone under the stewardship of Top!

there's a difference between the companies wealth and his personal wealth... if the company is struggling he likely won't be growing his wealth particularly but he doesn't then just lose whatever he'd already taken as dividends etc

Rich people don't  just make money from their businesses like sole traders would. They have diverse investments and access to financial vehicles you and I don't.

I think the smart move by Top was to distance himself from King Power, as a liability concern.  He does have other businesses that are directly under his ownership.. Mahanakhon is a large real estate area in Bangkok part of which is a huge skyscraper.. that alone is worth about £500m.

And you really think he’s going to delve into his personal wealth to buy players?

Absolutely but do you think he’s going to raid his personal investments to buy new players? If you look at the money that has been spent since he took over and in company with his sidekick Rodgers, the money spent on duff players has been raised by selling the good players bought before his stewardship.

that's literally what the oligarchs who buy football clubs do. I don't think aiyawatt will, seems to me like he's checked out and only still here because of a sense of obligation to his dad, but rich folk spending their money building football clubs is incredibly commonplace

And you really don’t get it the corrupt PSR rules prevent him dipping into his fortune to spend more money. The crooks at the EPL and EFL have conspired to end all ambition. If Top wanted to spend 500 million tomorrow he would be stopped as have many other owners. There is no competition anymore the big six have rigged it.

Oh yeah she was doing a great job of stopping it before she left wasn't she?

Like she really had a say anyway !
I think she’s realised like the rest of us that she’s pissing in the wind trying to change the club for the better. She’s given up and who could blame her. We have 2 in charge that ultimately do whatever they want. If they were on board the titanic Top would do everything he could to distract everyone from the disaster taking place.
