Went Preston on Saturday was sitting second row from front, stood up to watch game not many people were standing in front rows.

Had some guy ask me to sit down so he could see, are the front few rows for the more senior fans who want to sit?

Daughter 16 likes to be as close to front as possible and we like to stand.

It’s been like that at away games for as long as I can remember.

Theres always 6-9 rows at the front of any away end we end up in that are the complete opposite to 90% of away ends we get at the KP.

Avoid the first 6/7 rows if you want to stand. Partly depends on the ground and how the game is going. Like someone else said, our away ends are very different to most that come here.

@Frankel1981     As others have said ... if you want to stand, just generally avoid the first few rows.

It's not a fixed absolutely fixed though.      Some "good" games you might get nearly everyone standing.   Other midweek nothing-type games it might be half sitting down.

If you stand in that area, or make any form of sudden motion, there's a high chance you might knock their tea flask or packed lunch that could prove fatal. Keep well away from the KPFC care home rows.

10 years??? Most of the supporters club coach have been going for 40 or 50 years. I'm not on anyone's side here, but just because they aren't jumping up and down shouting swear words doesn't mean they aren't fans, I mean they spend their money and travel everywhere following the club and care just as much if not more than anyone else.

Are people saying there's an age limit now on away games? I'd rather sit near them then the plums who spend the whole game looking and gesturing at the opposing fans acting hard.

How do they care more when the result and performance is not important to them?

It's just a day out for some. I have an elderly relative (doesnt go anymore) that was part of the Coach 1 scene. She used to love it but it was just a social with the football being secondary to the coach and bingo. Each to their own.

Not sure why other clubs dont do this. Guessing they can't be shifted once established and why should they be if that's what they want to do?

in the case of the Preston match last Saturday ... there were actually about 270 unsold tickets (thanks to the Club's pathetic rules), so there was a bit of flexibility to move and sit/stand somewhere different.

(obviously doesn't apply to most games where we sell out)

I get the criticism of some who might want to sit there in silence, but equally it might be people who struggle to stand so it’s only fair to book further back if you go want to.

What? Everyone's different, we don't all shout vitriol and angrily. I mean I do, but I accept people especially older people don't necessarily react the same way. If they didn't care they wouldnt go.

I actually think in some instances this isn't true, I'm fairly confident that the older sections of the fanbase purely go to watch us out of habit these days. It's no different than their weekly trip to Morrisons to block the aisles while they have a chat.

On the original topic, it seems fair and courteous for the first 5 or 6 rows to be sitting, we're going to have some fans that want or need to sit down. It's a small portion of the allocation and there's a tonne of space behind. I do think after that it should be pretty much fair game unless some old boy has been stiffed by the ticket office.

First paragraph is pretty ageist. I’m pretty quiet when I go. Only so many times you can sing ‘Is this a library’ etc., with real gusto and enjoyment. Law of diminishing returns and feels pretty moronic, unoriginal and braindead by the time you reach your 6th decade.
