Has anyone seen or heard what happened to the £25 loyalty tax we were all forced to pay at the start of last season?!

Surely it would be easiest PR in the world for the club to show all the fans who were held over a barrel to keep a physical season ticket card how that money has helped their chosen charities….

Or has it not reached them yet?!

Yeah I am/was surprised the club didn't do a video showing a cheque or similar being handed over.

That £25 loyalty tax and the outright lies from the board was a poor chapter.

A donation of £247,125 will be made to local charities through the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation, with the money comprising of the fees collected from the sale of physical Season Ticket cards for the new season.
Season Ticket Holders that purchased a Season Ticket Card can now choose which of the Foundation’s four chosen charities for the 2024/25 season - LOROS Hospice, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, Leicester Children’s Hospital, and Heartwize - will be the recipient of their individual fee.

If split equally 4 ways - average £60k per charity

Sunita Patel, Head of Charity at Leicester Hospitals Charity, said:

“We are incredibly proud to be part of this season’s charity programme at King Power Stadium. The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation and Leicester City Football Club have been true partners over the past decade — not just in spirit, but in action. We are so incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the VS Foundation and LCFC”

“Leicester’s Hospitals are committed to transforming patient care and staff working at the Neonatal Unit can do just that with the help of state-of-the-art technology such as a portable heart scanner and a 4D imaging probe. Through the partnership with VS Foundation and LCFC we aim to raise £80,000 this May.  An incredible £60,000 has already been raised by Leicester City’s season ticket holders earlier in the season, so we are feeling positive about reaching our target with support from visitors and fans over the month of May”

The funds raised will help purchase a state-of-the-art bedside scanner, offering faster and more precise diagnostics for premature and seriously ill babies.

This vital equipment will not only improve clinical outcomes but also provide reassurance and comfort to families during some of their most challenging moments.

Yes. I thought I recall seeing it last year.

They didn't make a big enough thing of it when they did those 4 charity match days.

Couldn't squeeze it in to the media schedule, too busy prepping a birthday greeting for Astrit Adjarevic and Roman Bednar

Has that money hit the charities’ accounts yet? And when it was taken in July/August why did they still not have it by the following May?

The 4 dedicated charity fixtures were a bit random and seemed to be a reason to hold onto the money a bit longer.

I remember hearing some speculation that there is a PSR advantage to holding the money in the club’s foundation/charity account and those 4 fixtures seemed like a way to hold it for a tad longer (in a “once we’ve also got these 4 games done we’ll hand it over).

Has the club confirmed anywhere that the money has actually gone, when and what it’s been used for?

There was a time a few years ago when the money pledged to the hospital never actually went until the hospital had to make some enquiries so they have form on this

Shame they can't run the club like the charity.

We may stand a chance then.

I'd argue we have been an absolute charity ourselves, helping our poor clubs and footballers with massively inflated fees and wages on big contracts out of the kindness of our hearts

How come for previous seasons the same card could be used but this season they created a massive issue and you had to have a digital one unless you were old?

The club are following premier league rules

R.17.

Each Home Club shall ensure that a minimum of 70% of all available Home Tickets for each League Match are issued as Digital Tickets.
