Will Still

Just like in the summer, I’m now preparing my essay on why we should appoint him :D

Welcome Big Ange

horses for courses - he may just be the character that puts some fight into our team. Can't see it happening though.

Vitor Pereira has a patchy record, but may be a good choice to help bring in some Portuguese talent.

I suppose this is a good example of my "clutching at straws"

Looking at the odds for the Southampton job will be a mirror image of us if we get rid of Cifuentes.
So based on that and the fact we won’t look at anyone who hasn’t managed in this country and has to be readily available it’s gonna be one of - Hassenhutl, Gary O’Neil, Martin, Carvahal, or Wagner.
I think it’ll be Martin unless Southampton are stupid enough to reappoint him.

Would add Carrick to that list. Not that I’d want him.
Can’t see anything wrong with appointing an ex Man Utd player……..

None of these inspire much confidence

No chance they bring Martin here, there would be riots.

Can I be honest about something that isnt the point of this thread....

Why is it when discussing football, fans talk in this weird present tense way all the time. Like saying "No chance they bring Martin here", rather than saying "No chance THEY WOULD BRING Martin here"

Its like when people say "If the ref sees that"..... no, "if the ref HAD SEEN that"

Weird how people talk like this about football, feel free to piss take away lol

That’s where we are now.
I’d rather we look at Dave Challinor or Ritchie Wellens. But it’s obvious it’ll be Martin.

Some purely deluded soles in this thread.

Wd had Ruud Van Nisterlooy and QPRs ex Manager.

THIS is the level of Manager who is coming to this LCFC at the moment.

No manager with an ounce of pedigree will touch us with a bargepole.

Norwich will pull the plug next and that’s them and saints looking for new mangers while we just go nothing as per usual!

there are several available managers out of work currently who I’d have over Marti.

He’s obviously in charge for our next 2 league games then it’s the international break.

I’m hoping Norwich do and get Martin in. With him being an ex player I live in hope he ends up anywhere but here.
Who would you have who’s currently available?

Based on what?

Based on the fact that hes always worked with talented youngsters and improved them albeit not in a managerial capacity, he has literally learned from arguably the best and one of the best man managers ever, hes never had the chance to shine but in his one genuine caretaker role at Hull he was getting them to perform  competitively at the highest level on a squad of about 14 players.

Yeah you could well be right tbf I can’t see us having Martin if we do get rid of Marti but you know what we’re like 😂

mangers available who I think we could get -

Bo Svensson

Carlos Carvahal

Henrik Rydstrom

Bruno Lage

Urs Fischer still available, wanted him for years and he would be even more fitting for us now that we don't have a pot to piss in given his success without spending anything at Union Berlin

I agree but he’s been out of work for a while now makes you wonder why?

Only 2 years, feel that's not crazy after spending 5 years in a job

There is no chance we would ever hire him though, I doubt anyone in our boardroom has ever even heard of him given he hasn't played or managed in England before

As much as I’d like Svensson and Rydstrom our recent appointments suggest we never get anyone without previous experience in this country.
Carvahal would be imo a decent choice.
I’m not that convinced on Lage. Wolves seemed to fall away dramatically when he was there.
There’s some decent foreign options out there that are readily available who want to manage in this country. The two that stand out are - Diego Martinez and Adi Hutter.
Hutter is extremely unlikely with where we are but I think Martinez could be attainable.
As I’ve stated the problem is we don’t hire anyone unless they’ve got previous experience in this country.

Im pretty sure weve only had one manager in our history who never played or managed in England before managing Leicester.
