I'd roughly agree but then I'm advocating for Vestergaard, Winks, Reid and Daka. It's sickening.

Exactly. I don't think there's a single time i've ever seen Vestergaard start a game for us and I've been happy about it.

... says it all when he's probably been our best player this season.

Would a back 4 of

Ricardo

Nelson

Okoli

Aluko

genuinely do any worse than what we’re currently serving up?

He wont do it though. All attacking transitions MUST start with Vestergaard. His undroppable. Cos, you know, it's working just fine.

I agree, but we do have to name 11 players lol

The swamp didn't get drained. We only sold/released our best players.

We did well to sell Justin, Coady, Mcateer, Hermansen (could have gone for more but has struggled for form since his injury).

The only player we sold in the summer that we're really missing is Ndidi, El Khannouss as well but he had to go.

Definitely missing Justin too, even he hasn't been great for a while. Even more so when we didn't sign anyone to replace him.

Best I can do with who's available. Nelson who's good with both feet can play the Doyle role of a few years ago and cover for Monga

                 Stolarczyk

Aluko Okoli Vestergaard Nelson

         Ricardo Winks James

    Fatawu      Daka       Monga

Justin had a horror show season last year, maybe he would be a slight improvement on Thomas and Kristiansen but I dont think it would be enough to change results significantly.

Good personality which we are lacking at the moment but realistically he had to go and to get £9mil for him was very good business.

Only Coady and McAteer (although i'd play him ahead of Fatawu at the moment) doesn't start every week for us from that lot.

The parachute payments give you a massive chance to bounce back but I think that transfer window has condemned us to 5 years in this league at a minimum.

Like it, although its potentially harsh on Nelson. Would almost consider Aluko on the left  and Hamza at RB, but then we are back to selecting w@nkers.

Have you seen Hermansen at West Ham? He's turned into Danny Ward, no chance he starts over Stolarczyk on current form.

Mcateer similarly has been dreadful for Ipswich, Fatawu hasnt been at his best but his worst is still miles ahead of Mcateer has been this season.

As I said to the other commenter Justin had to go as well, he was really bad last season. He might be a bit better than Thomas (which is debatable after his level for us last year) but to get the money we got for him was very good.

I don't rate him particularly but we need an actual DM in midfield in Choudhury. Winks and James don't screen the defence well enough at all - look at their defensive stats, pitiful

If Nelson, Aluko, Monga are not starting. And Page and at least one of the U21 strikers are not on the bench. I have nothing to support. I can’t watch those shits anymore. The young players and hope around them is the only thing left to keep interested. And I’ve watched this club through Pleat. Taylor. Early 2000s. League One and now. This is the worst it has been for me and I can’t do it anymore.

Any argument that sticking the kids in (despite this being heralded as a golden generation for us) is risky and would hinder progress is now completely in the toilet given what this experienced lot have served up for 18 bastard months. I don’t want them eased in anymore or included in part. Cifeuntes ****ed that with choosing these guys again. Starting or do one.

I’ll check the starting 11 and if it’s not. I’ll watch the Champions League games instead. Never thought I’d say that.

James is a fantastic box-to-box midfielder for this level. He effort and determination is fantastic and he's the only one interested in moving the ball forward quickly. He should be backed up with a proper defensive midfielder.

It's Harry Winks that is offering absolutely nothing. Morris and Hackney will run all over him tomorrow.

Page is on international duty, and isnt Monga ill?

Nelson i agree with. I still think Aluko starting is very unlikely, but i want him on the bench instead of VK (who is probably injured anyway).

I don't think we can play 4231. Even James alongside a good DM is just too porous I think. Choudhury at DM with Winks and James ahead seems our most balanced midfield without Ramsey.

Didn’t Boro take a 3-0 hammering at the weekend?

Stats suggest it was a tight game with Watford finishing their chances well.

The bench in Saturday showed how dire this squad is.

Play some of the youngsters. The crowd (those actually interested in the football, in any case) would get behind them. The regulars are doing nothing so another defeat with youngsters is just another defeat following the normal lot.
