There should be a standard point deduction for any team who overspend. (PSR is dreadful anyway and hinders teams challenge the top 6)

this is a typical FA decision.

when teams are doing well take more points.

team close to relegation will be less.

The 3 points deductions Everton, Forest and Leicester. All three have caused 0 impact on the clubs.
Forest 4 points so they do not go into relegation, we have 6 so stay outside relegation. Everton were doing well had 10 and no near relegation.
FA want to appear to govern the game but lack in correct decision making.

What did the FA have to do with it? :D

Happy with that. At least we know at last!

I agree, to me it felt like a relief, and a huge weight off.

Massive fcuk up lessons learnt and now accepting the punishment so not to drag it on any longer.

start this new rebuild and stop being afraid to sell our top players,  they will be replaced!

We need to pull our entitled heads out of our arses and try support the team.

It's been rubbish lately 😭

Letsbeavinya!! Where are you! 🦊🤣🦊

Bleedin ostriches 😉

Has anyone made the point that a 7 point deduction (reduced to 6 with mitigation)  removes any possibility that Leeds could take a case against us for denying them promotion that season ?

Quite possibly, I mentioned it before on here and if Man City get found guilty we could go after them. Turns it into a circus in the end.

A fair few Leeds fans have made that point online :D

Man City’s misdemeanours were over a number of years and go back to the period where we were promoted and then won the league.  That’s going to be quite a stretch for anyone to take a case on a specific season.

Team wise ... First job anyone out of contract in the summer should not be selected to play .... second job anyone not up for the fight ... should not be selected to play .... what is left we go with and where we end up will at least be Leicester city and then we go again

Agree with everything except for that Steve Cooper was sacked too early.

In the summer he was pushing for a £10 million loan for a finished Zaha, and we still signed load of terrible and expensive players for him.

If he had made it to the winter transfer window we would have had a 9-12 points deduction this season and more crap players that we would not be able to shift.

But there are charges in there from when we were going for CL, no? That's what im getting at. In the end it becomes a circus, not just one club but could be multiple clubs going after whoever - i include us in this too.

If Leeds potentially come for us, then could those who finished fourth and so on? What points could have been deducted etc it gets messy quickly

Just one incompetence after another. You can blame the usual suspects but we didn't learn to control the expectations after winning the League and again after the Cup - throwing good money after players who weren't good enough for the Prem. When you think of the quality we had when Puel left and now. Rodgers, Top and Rudkin - ruined the club.

@Loxm - I want a 10 minute Luke Aussie style rant soon on this. Wind him up first and then let him go for it.

Start of watchalong tomorrow you’ll get it

Makes the last 2 results even harder to take knowing both teams were absolutely terrible an we are not likely to have any earlier games this season

That breeds dysfunction. It breeds situations where at least one senior player was known to stroll defiantly around the pitch during training sessions, infuriating team-mates who were giving 100 per cent.

seriously, this is the shit we have in our squad and people want to “back the lads”

The interest paid does

Of course,  though my understanding from reading posts of people more expert than me in this field is that it does not effect the loss reported as part of FFP.

It doesn’t say when this happened. I’d guess at it being BEK, makes you wonder why he was selected.

It obviously could be Winks before the Sheff U game, but the same would apply. I suspect Marti wanted to banish them to the U23s and was told he wasn’t allowed as they needed to be in the shop window.

Be careful what you wish for.

Man City’s charges are from way before us challenging for the CL

It does.

Yes the arrangements free up cash “ owed “or becoming due but company’s that allow you access to what in effect is future income don’t offer up the service out the goodness of their hearts they do so because they see a profit and a big one at that.

You appear to be privy to information most of us don't have. Don't criticise supporters who have no idea of what's gone on behind the scenes. It's one player, apparently, not the whole team and the lads still need backing - that's what supporters are supposed to do. Direct your frustrations at the culpable. Let's have the ***** named and shamed. He should be suspended and sold off.
