And memories of the not very happy Stoke fans running across the pitch to get at us!

No chance of that these days, empty seats everywhere at their home games

They average more now than they did that day.

Stadium looks barren on the highlights but fair enough

A few mates who are Stoke fans have told me that we are nailed on to win this as they are really struggling. Loads of injuries meaning they've got a kid playing in goal who is League Two level, they haven't got a striker who can score goals and their midfield has been decimated.  Plus there are rumblings of problems between staff on the coaching team and bad morale in general.

3-2 Stoke win then (we're 2-0 up at half time)

Sounds exactly the sort of game we'll be 3-0 down by half time in.

Jesus I hadn't realised how much they had dropped off. Knew they had fallen a bit but over the last 15 games they've picked up fewer points than us, and only scored 9 times.

We really need to win this.

Ever obliging Leicester and all that.

We have to view this game as winnable. They're even worse than us at the minute with next to no games available.

If we are comfortably beaten in this then I think it's Goodnight Vienna.

I'm really not sure what Rowett's track record is with playing inexperienced players but I think he has to given how out of form our experienced players are.

I think he'll play the following;

Begovic

Ricardo Okoli Nelson Thomas

Winks Skipp

Fatawu Mukasa Mavididi

Ayew

and that makes me ****ing weep. Just have to hope he's seen enough of us play or that the likes of Andy King have been honest with him with regards to players like Thomas, Winks and Ayew.

He made a particular point about players who don''t want to "play for the shirt" wouldn't be in the squad so I'm interested to see if he follows through with that.

I fully believe him that he won't bring the likes of Ayew and Winks into the team until they've proven to him that they don't care.

I just worry he's going to give them 3/4 games first.

They might average more but that particular day was a sell out at the time, I think around 27000 before they filled in the corner.

Spoke to a Stoke fan about it.

Reckons they've had about 10 first team players available for these games, a ridiculous injury crisis. Playing their third choice goalkeeper, a winger up front, four centre backs in defence.

This really is an opportunity to get a win and clean sheet - probably the weakest opposition we've played since Norwich in November all considered.

No faith whatsoever that we'll deliver it. If we play Thomas we start a goal down and if we play Ayew we lower our chances of coming back from it.

Hopefully Rowett isn't a moron.

Yep bloke at work has said as much to me too.

Also said they really don't like Rowett there. They think it's got all the hallmarks of us going there and reviving our season with a statement win.

Trouble is that I think the opposite.

I really hope he makes some changes.

Unless he's just talking a good game, he's hopefully the first manager in a while with a pair of balls.

Just got to back up the talk now,  hes got a tough crowd because we've all heard enough 'talk' this season. We need points now.

I think Winks will have had a one-to-one chat with Rowett, and probably told him that 'he'll give his all' until the end of the season. therefore that'd be good enough for Rowett, as he's only here for the same period. And that'll be that!

I think Ayew is injured.

I'm also hopeful that Gary and Kingy will have had a good chat about the full backs. Not sure how much value Gary puts on Thomas's long throw

Personally don’t see the point in playing Begovic. We are deluding ourselves he’s an upgrade and just oversaw the horrific 2nd half against Southampton. Rather play aluko and vk right now. And Daka!

Literally, Thomas should not play. Change to three at the back if necessary....

Are you talking about the play off match?  There was 21,037 there.

No 2008, yes playoffs was at the old Victoria Ground which was a similar capacity to Filbo post Hillsborough.
