people debate stupid questions (a cynic could make a joke about politics here) that it's a topic that people will debate doesn't mean it's not starting from an incredibly flawed premise

Stupid or not it’s still a debate with our fam base I’m afraid

Joined today and I was disappointed such low numbers. Lots of people filming and a few flinging insults - hope they had a great afternoon.

We're a terrible fanbase largely and we're absolutely ****ed as a club. I dont really know what's happened - we used to be so much better, I was reminiscing about the O'Neil protests post Sheffield utd in 96....that was much more active and we were nowhere near the shit we're in now.

At this point, dont protest or march, just dont go. The fanbase is divided and at eachothers throats. Concede the stadium to KPFC fans at match time and let them watch us go down. Gather up somewhere else then start marching down mid 2nd half and park up outside the main entrance from full time onwards.

When you are fighting against people who are as thick as pig shit, you won't get anywhere. Idiots like LeicesterFanTV who once got something from the club so will kiss arse just make stuff worse. "Would you have taken all we have now had if we offered it you in 2009." Have a word with yourself. Its not a choice. We had never been League 1 before and its not a transfer. It was a sink to our lowest ebb and these folks say we should be happy. Man is a Marc Goldbridge wannabe and is failing, and Marc aint setting that bar high...

Same with the FB lot who went after the trust or all them lot. You argue with them and its like me arguing with my 1 year old. No one gets a coherent response and shit gets thrown about.

I know others here will not agree with me here, but protests pre match when no one is going is sadly not working. Don't go the match at all, meet up elsewhwre and march down before the end of the game when we will inevitably be losing and pick up on the crowds anger and sit at the players car park.  Or just dont go or spend a penny on them. Dont renew season tickets or memberships and just vote with the wallet. At this point it is clear the club is terminal and we have a group who want to treat the issue by doing nothing and going off the cliff lemming style and others who want to fight tooth and nail. Feels now at this point that anyone trying to say anything negative about the club is treated like some nut ball and its just going to get more toxic. Scrapping in the stands and fists flying between fans is ridiculous.

It seems to be across age/generational lines and even down to which social media channels they use. Its insane.

The entire fanbase bar a small minority just feels bought. I think you could do fascinating studies on it.

Saw someone with a furled up banner in his hands walking past the Holiday Inn away from the ground with two "safety officers" following behind.

Not sure why they were stalking and what difference they thought they were making by stalking someone heading away from the stadium.

You protesters are a disgrace. The players definitely remembered 40 minutes into the game that there were 250 people outside the ground saying some hurty words about our owners and got upset and couldn't concentrate. It's your fault we're getting relegated!

The one positive is the KP lot can’t blame it on the protest this time!

Had we folded after 2 minutes, they could make that argument (not that I think it’d be valid but they could). The fact we started off brightly and took the lead puts that to bed.

Oh they have, don’t worry about that. Anything but blame the players or their beloved owner. The dissenters are to be blamed for EVERYTHING.

Complete nonsense though. If we caved after 2 minutes, I’d not agree it’s because of the protest but I’d reluctantly accept it is a consequence of taking action that they could try and pin it on that.

There’s literally no argument for that being to blame yesterday. Not that they ever have a strong argument though.

Typical KPFC surface level (if that) analysis. Protest before + lost game = protesters fault with no wider understanding of the fact we lead the game and started well enough. Similar to their analysis that this is where we have always been because they don’t understand there are 24 places in this league and that there is a difference between being a strong team pushing for promotion (we have the record second tier titles for a reason) and being a side that is second bottom, 30 games without a clean sheet, can’t string 2 wins together in this league!

This lot think that Aiyawatt is a competent owner and should be given the freedom of Leicester for ‘all he’s done for the club’, so of course we’re going to be blamed for everything. They have a very basic level thought process which goes no deeper than Top good, protesters bad.

Exactly. Someone on here the other day, I won’t name them, I don’t think they were fully KP but were sympathetic with the thought process. And in response to the ‘we’re back to our natural level’ argument from KP, they said they mean the Championship.

Even if you subscribe to a natural level (get back into L1 and L2 then Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth, know your place), and you agree that for us that is the Championship based on marginally mote

seasons at this level than tier 1 (but it’s close) or that our overall average finish is something like 22nd which currently is tier 2 (not always been the case), it shows a complete lack of understanding and context as to the fact their is more to it than simply what league you are in. Essentially it’s calling the Maresca season and this season the same!

'All he's done for the club'....

Which is what exactly? The ground and surrounding areas are the same as 15 years ago, possibly worse.

A donation to the local hospital which needed chasing up. The Vichai foundation, which has zero transparency.

It's just a massive vanity project which a gullible fanbase has swallowed up whole.

The only thing they've invested in is a holiday camp on the Nottinghamshire border which offers **** all value to the club.

The improved club shop is just a collection of water bottles no one is going to buy. I absolutely despise KP.

Here's another.

Very likely going to be starting from around 60th in the English football ladder come next August.

Exactly that and like I said, the thought process is on a very basic level. There’s no deeper thought because either they don't have the capacity, they don’t care enough or quite possibly, both.

missed the first one v Norwich due to getting stuck in traffic on the M1, was there for yesterday's and genuinely shocked by how low the turnout is. Is there genuinely a more apathetic fan base out there? walking down to the ground around the Holiday inn/fan zone, half those not involved looked like they were surprised to even see protests.

Can’t wait for when we get the blame for going down. “It was your fault for being so toxic and protesting!!!!

We have one of the shittest fanbases in the country.

I live abroad these days so I'm in no position to be saying 'you should do this' or 'that won't work'. I'm really grateful for the effort and, as all meaningful defences of KP are gradually dismantled and blown away, think the larger numbers will come. If the protests are a fixture, in time they'll be seen as something people can easily join when the moment seems right to them. I honestly think it's all about persistence.

I do think there has been some unfortunate timing. One protest before a new boss's first home game, when all eyes were on what he might be able to change. Another on the back of our first win in ages, when there was more optimism than we'd known in a long while. People shouldn't be distracted by such minor pleasures, but they will be.

Having seen all of these recollections of protests I attended in the Shipman era and beyond (not the O'Neill one, I should smugly add!), it struck me that these were both impromptu and post, rather than pre-match. So having a regular event which people feel they can join on the spur of a moment will at some point be effective. Could there be anything similarly fixed which could take place after a game? You may well see more people drawn to that, when all shreds of optimism have been freshly obliterated.

Either way, this is vital stuff. Whatever you choose to do, I'm behind it and - as the existential nature of the argument becomes ever clearer - so will the wider strength of feeling. When someone feels they can conveniently and easily say, '**** it, I'm gonna join them this time', and the right (or, depending on your viewpoint, wrong) timing coincides, it'll take off.

Easy for me to say, but I believe the tide is turning. And let's be honest, if we are right in what we're saying, at some stage the pro-KP argument will simply seem so flimsy and borderline non-existent that the fanbase will become increasingly united. Granted, we could be at the brink of extinction by then, and there'll still be smatterings of silly sods banging the KP drum, but it'll come.
